They think the rainy season is over here. By next week it'll be in the 90s...and people will complain about that, too, no doubt. But it is summer, so what do you expect? There are many places that have a saying, "If you don't like the weather here, wait ten minutes and it'll change." The Ohio Valley is one of those places. Let's celebrate summer with another song with "summer" in the title. #6: In the Summertime - Mungo Jerry If you remember that series I did earlier this year, celebrating my late mother's birthday by listing ten rock songs that she liked, then this may not shock you so much. My mom loved this song. There was a certain "beat" that she enjoyed, and this song had it. Mungo Jerry, a British band, had one US hit. This is it. But it's endured for nearly 50 years now. And why not? It's a light, fun celebration of summer, which is what people tend to want when it's summer. Enjoy some cold water and this classic.
