We had storms literally all night and into this morning. The organist for church could not get out of her property, so we sang a capella.
After church hubby and I went to a nearby town for bread and bananas and lunch. Once we got home we napped. That is very unusual for me.
The humidity is pretty heavy and I am thinking I need a bridge installed from my front door to the car. My front lawn slopes away from the street and water accumulates by the house.
I got muffins made for hubby to have on days when we do not get oatmeal. The recipes I use are not too sweet and they have whole oats or raisin bran cereal in them. I like the idea of muffins instead of hot oatmeal for breakfast.
Last week I made some natural products to take to my daughter, like sunscreen and insect repellent. I had made the latter in a quart jar, so I bottled up a little sprayer for her and a dark brown bottle with the rest. I am gathering and packing things. Of course I will take her the recipes as well.
For myself, personally, I decided to put the repellent in a roller bottle. It will be easy to control exactly where it is applied.
Hubby is already in bed. I am going to go drink some more water, check the forecast for tomorrow.
I am getting excited for vacation.

Yes, my daughter lives almost six hundred miles from here, and then hubby wants to go see some people who live even further north.

It is pretty easy, and less expensive than the store bought chemicals. I find lemon grass works exceptionally well where I live to repel insects. I read that different places different things work.

@petatonicsca That is a new recommendation. I have heard they do not like original Listerine mouthwash. I know flies do not. I have a sprayer full of that. Your chamomile tea sounds like a good solution.

@GardenGerty I use chamomile tea, which mosquitoes don't like. I make a cup of tea, put a bit in a spray bottle and drink the rest!

Yes, we have to take advantage of any cool days. I napped yesterday but I am now eagerly doing the last minute things before the trip.

that's sad 'bout the floodin', hon. hopefully such'll subside'n y'all'll dry out a bit. i'd be workin' to remedy that backwards facin' slope. then 'gain a bridge sounds lovely :) i need to make me some 'f those. i went to put'n skeeter stopper'n found i'd used such'n the horses (thought i'd 'nother bottle...). oh well, they need the protection, too.
i bet'cha 're jest giddy 'bout that vacation! i can't recall the last i've'd?? reckon that means such's been too long 'go. 'f course, can't go places these days with all these critters. findin' reliable folks to tend 'em 's proven quite the challenge.

This is the only times I see my daughter, or if she comes here. If I go there they can do their regular activity and be in their own routine.

@GardenGerty i've ne'er been able to make the trip to my daughters 'n aint seen 'er fer 2 yrs, the grands 3. they're hopin' to come this next month but i aint sure that's gonna work out. the son'n-law's many health issues 'n a new neurosurgeon who's runnin' mountains 'f tests.
go glad yer gettin' to go! they can do their own routine'n that gives ya time to find somethin' ya 'njoy, too.

We had a bad storm on Saturday afternoon which knocked out our power until Sunday morning. The wind took down a tree a few trailers down from me.
