The Downy Woodpecker

I put up a second hummingbird feeder. These little birds are so territorial, they like the feeder all to themselves. This morning I saw a bird on the feeder. He was not a hummingbird. This is a Downy woodpecker. The smallest woodpecker in North America. Visiting my hummingbird feeder. I was lucky to get his photo before he flew away. They come through every now and then. I was happy to get a photo this time around. Photo ©CarolDM Having a good day so far? Plans for the week?

@caroldm It’s so satisfying just watching birds at a feeder. My plans? Tonight I have a graveyard committee meeting. Yes you heard right.

I watch them every single day. Rain or shine. Well that sounds like a quiet meeting.

Beautiful photo of him. I'm glad you were able to get the photo. I've had a good week. A little upset on Thursday, but all's well that ends well. I was just clumsy.
