I was on the cusp this evening. I knew I wanted either miso soup, Unagi (cooked eel) and Tekka Maki (a simple tuna roll) or good old Tom Kha Gai (Thai chicken and coconut soup).
I called the Japanese restaurant first. I spoke to one person and asked if I could place an order to go. She handed me to another person, and then the line disconnected.
I did not hesitate. I called the Thai restaurant and immediately recognized the voice of Jenny, whom I've know for more than ten years.
She said "Hi, Horse." I said, "Is this Jenny?" She said "yes" and asked me if I wanted "the usual." I told her "yes, a bit spicy, and with white rice."
If someone gives you bad service, do you try again? Or just go with the restaurant that gives you good service immediately?
I'll take a picture of my delightful Tom Kha Gai with white rice if I'm not too engrossed in eating it.

I used to go to one close by, like you, they know my name. Tony even used to trade them fish a long time ago for Chinese food, well, one day I am in getting food to go and the owners wife wouldnt speak to me, turned her head and had her little boy do the same.
I have not went back. I see their daughter at other places and I speak and keep going.

I try to give them a second chance. Because some times they just have off nights. But if the second time isn’t better then the first time they we jsur don’t go through again and I don’t recommend it to friends or family.

@TheHorse could be! Some places I like for the dinning only and others I don’t mind just getting to and eat it at home.

@ShyBear88 Yep. I bet they were confused and distracted because it was busy there.

Depends if it just a bad day or if it is a habit. If it is a habit, will not try again, bad day, I will..$25 dollars of Japanese food. You eat like a horse. In Japan. I could get a big old plate of Chicken YakiSoba for 5 bucks. I usually eat half and save half.

I agree with you for you're spending money to get what you want, and the friendlier the better! I'd be like you okay, don't want my business, I know who does want my patronage...adios.

Like food that's different...hope it's a good experience for I understand liking the food you love to eat every so often. They got a sale going on for garlic chicken at Foodland supermarket...never tried it, but since it sounds so delicious I'm going to give it a try with a quarter pound. Hoping the weather holds up,...been getting thunderstormy and lightening weather. Today is the first day no lightening forecast so I ventured out.

I guess it depends....do they make up for the bad service or not....or if I have gone before and had good service. Hope you enjoyed the meal!

It depends on how badly I want something from that service. The connection might have been an accident and they might hope you'll call back so they can give you great service. However, being on the cusp, I'd go with known good service.
