Morning Treat

I decided that I needed a little treat this morning. Usually a morning treat would mean flavored coffee to me. However, this morning I decided to fix something different and out of the ordinary for breakfast. I made chocolate chip muffins and they were pretty good. Although I made them from a mix, they were tasty and went well with my morning coffee. Do you ever find yourself needing a little treat? What's your favorite breakfast treat? I always like a sweet treat with my coffee. Cinnamon rolls are one of my favorites.

@LindaOHio I usually don't do chocolates at breakfast, this was an off the wall thing to do but I liked it because it was different.

@crazyhorseladycx I am not wild about them, but will eat them every now and then. Not something I would want to eat every day or multiple times a week.

Sounds like a good treat. I saw what the scale said a couple of days ago, so I'm not listening to that voice for treats right now, otherwise, it would be chocolate brownies. I make them so they're completely healthy. No sugar.

@just4him With all the running and activity in the last week, I'm down a whole size. Luckily, I have my old jeans and glad to have them fitting again.

@just4him Yea, a bit too much with all the physical walking and running around I'm doing, but it has to be done. Seeing how my brother is good for basically nothing, I will not disappoint my mother any further. This is a big let down for her, but she needs to realize that he lives for himself and not her and that she needs to let go and stop giving him money to blow. She is not helping him at this point, just enabling him to continue with is ways of free loading.

@kareng I'm happy you're down a size. I'm sure it's not the way you should lose it though.

The photo was from Pixaby. Mine had the chocolate chips in them. They were good, but not exactly my cup of tea for breakfast. I'd rather a danish or other pastry for a treat.

@kareng I understand what you are saying. A Pasty is more suited for breakfast than chocolate chip cookies.

Muffins sounds really good but I can have the chocolate part of it. I don't eat breakfast during the week but weekends I like to make a full breakfast.

@Bensen32 I think that I will start doing a breakfast night once a week. Will be a lighter meal and perfect for this hot weather.

My favorite treat for breakfast is a doughnut and coffee. But, I don't eat that all the time.

So glad you enjoyed your muffin. I’m not a sweet eater, so my breakfast treat would be going out for omelettes with the works.

Yes, we should all treat ourselves to something every now and then, manicure, sweet, shopping, etc.

@JohnRoberts I very rarely buy donuts here, as the hubby is diabetic. So they are more of a treat here also and once in a blue moon.

I would actually prefer something more in line with a pastry: cinnamon rolls, danish, etc. A big breakfast out, is the best treat

That is the only way my grandson will eat pancakes and waffles...with chocolate chips. He's more than a bit spoiled and I didn't do it (in that case, anyway.)

I don't eat a lot of cereal. For some reason it is always an after thought with me or I'm out of other things and it is a last resort. My husband, on the other hand eats it all the time, and even for snacks--dry or with milk.
