Today it's suppose to be a high of 89 F and high humidity. The humidity right now is at 73% making it feel like 78 F at 8 am. I'm guessing it is going to feel quite uncomfortable this afternoon. How is the weather by you?
Last night on the way home I stopped at the store to get a few things and seen they have the Pre 4th of July sale going on Dr. Pepper. They have four 12 packs for $11 limit 8. I decided since I will drink them eventually that I would get 8 of them. That sale makes them $2.75 each and normally they are about $4-5 so at almost half price I might as well get them now.
I finished the 2 seasons of Bad Blood and now I have to wait for season three, when ever that might come out. I really enjoyed the show but now I am sad cause I have to find something else to watch. I searched around to see if anything sounded interesting.
I ended up watching an episode of a show called The Untold History of The United States. It was made in 2012 by Oliver Stone. The documentary is a 10 part series and so far the first episode has me interested. I like history and I know what we learned in school was fluff and mostly only what the government wanted us to know. There is so much more information and more accurate information out there.
As I go through this series I will let you all know how it goes. I think from the first episode it is worth watching if your interested in American history involving World War II. The series starts with the lead up and beginning of WWII.
Hope you all have a good day, time to start mine I guess.

That is far too hot for my liking. I would have to sit in your fridge!
I love history but as you say the governments only let you know what they want you to know. IN some cases they rewrite history to suit themselves but luckily we have the internet now and can find out nearly all we want to! Enjoy your documentary!

The temp at 9:21 is already 70+ but the temp will go up into the mid 90's today. The humidity is supposed to be fairly low over the next few 90 plus days though..so it will probably not be as bad as it can be around here then.

I have been rewatching Call the midwife on Netflix
of course will be watching Big Brother on CBS 3 nights a week now. It's back. Can't seem to find any fans of that show here

@Gillygirl I love it and so many things are as I remember them here in the states except we did have a lot easier life. but then the ones in certain places here I know had it the same as on that program. but still most had to pay except for ones on welfare

@Gillygirl we did have clinics that did not cost much here in cities like Cleveland where I lived at the time . You was charged according to your income and they did give free juice, coffee, and snacks once you were signed in. This was for anyone with any health problem and you got what ever doctor was given you and the wait was sometimes many hours if they were really busy.
I don't think we had midwives at that point or not many that came to homes or doctors.

Dr. Pepper is my favorite soft drink, you got an excellent buy:) I was given all kinds of fluff in high school classes, about European history. Knowing the 'truth' makes me cry, hearing what really happened! Mankind is very deceitful, burying the horrid truth, to make themselves look good
We are getting a light rain today, in Michigan.

@Bensen32 And depending upon who wrote the history and where they were from, the story is always different!

@kobesbuddy so true, kind of like that game we played as little kids you start a saying at one side of the room and as you whisper to each person by time it gets to the other side of the room the thing being said is a little different.

I was reading today that France recorded its highest temperatures ever with some cities in the 40C+(110F+) range before factoring in the humidity.
The series you discovered sounds interesting but based on his past work the words Oliver Stone and historical accuracy are oxymoronic.

My wife actually met Oliver Stone at her place of work. He and some of his film crew were there where she was working, at a thrift store, looking for old clothes for the cast to wear and looking for old furniture and other items for the set of a movie. I don't know if they spoke, but it is likely.
History is something we all could learn from. My wife was a child in World War 2. She asked her mother when she looked at the front page of the newspaper, "Mommy, who is that man with the mustache?" Her mother replied, "That is a very bad man." - There were a lot of things going on during that war and the years before it all started. Do you remember ration stamps? I was born later and didn't live during the war. But my wife lived as a child during that time. It was a time that most would chose to forget.

@Bensen32 , History is a subject for anyone. Any age. I imagine we are all a lot younger than those people in the history books. One day maybe we will be in the history books.

The weather was good yesterday. It showed 84 for the high yesterday when I watched it this morning. We also got a lot of rain last night. Yes, humidity is up as the dew point climbs.
I heard that series is good. I'm glad you like it. What I learned in history compared to what they teach today was a lot. I asked my grandson a question I thought everyone should know, and he didn't have a clue what I was talking about. It's sad to think what they're teaching kids today.

It is not as humid here as it is back home right now. Not as hot either. Lots of sun today. Probably we will go to a park

It's a bit funny and worrying that stuff we learnt in school was geared towards teaching us what others thought we should know. There was so much else going on. In Australia during World War II, so much was kept from the public - for good reason I guess.

Weather here on Central Coast of Oregon, cloudy, at least this morning with a chance of a shower. Temps are going to soar up to the low sixties. You mention the price of sodas... When I was in my teens, a long time ago, I would buy a soda and a candy bar for fifty cents. (Yeah, I'm an old geezer now.) Gasoline stations were still having price wars, I purchased a tank at 19 cents a gallon. Had to pump it myself though. (That was a new thing back then.) Funny, here in Oregon, its against the law for me to pump my own gas. (well there are a few exceptions.)
