OH, I have seen this many times. Not many people knew Cagney could dance. But it was his first passion in performing. He does a remarkable job in this movie. I second the recommendation, watch this as part of your independence day celebration.

Glad your 4th got more love than mine, no one loves me. 
Yankee Doodle I used to sing when I was a kid, not sure why but was fun Yankee Doodle Dandee. Never did see this though made a whole production out of it. Pretty neat.
I do remember one time in Australia, they would call us Yankee's my one friend was so mad, he was from Alabama, I am from the south that offends me. I am no damn Yankee. Where I first saw the divide between right and left wing people. I was pretty ignorant in those times.

I don't watch the movie. But my best Hollywood movie is TITANIC for ever.
