My granddaughter delivered her baby girl today. My son called me this morning and I spent the day worrying. She had a hard labor and her doctor finally decided to do a cesarean. Her mother was with her during the whole ordeal. Her dad and rest of the family were in the waiting room, taking time about seeing her.
My granddaughters husband stayed with her until time for the cesarean but left the room before the doctor started the surgery. I think he was half scared to death. Her mother stayed and held her hand during the surgery. I know she was a great comfort to granddaughter.
After the nurse cleared the baby's airway she wrapped the baby in a blanket and handed her to my daughter in law. She placed little Anna in my Granddaughter's arms.
I hate that she had such a hard birthing experience, but now she and the baby are doing fine. Anna is already nursing and mother and baby are resting. And now I have a second great granddaughter. Lucky me.

@moffittjc No, I don't. All the grandkids live too far away. If not I'd probably have my hands full of babies.

I'm sorry it was such hard labor for her and the doctor needed to do a cesarean. I'm glad both mother and daughter are doing well.

Childbirth can still be a very dangerous event. I'm really pleased everything has turned out well.
