Sharing Coffee

Thanks for all your kind thoughts from around the world. I've woken this morning feeling the most calm I've felt in five weeks. My husband is in a more settled stage now he's in a care facility and I'm able to relax and enjoy spending time with him. This morning I'm going to take him some coffee, as we usually share coffee on a Sunday morning. We've started adding little bits of normality to life, creating a new normality as we treasure our time together.

Glad you are feeling better. Yes a long term care facility can be a huge help. It takes a lot of stress off of everyone.

@valmnz I had finally found a great one for dad before he passed. They were even able to help make him happy about being there. But he did miss his home at times. When that happened I would point out how much more help he got and how he could roam the halls in the wheelchair by himself. He stayed mobile with it until about the last week. That was something his house didnt have room for him to do. Just try to find the good points to help him.

@valmnz I understand. I know it's going to be hard. I've had family members in nursing homes. But When it's your life partner that's way above and beyond. You will be on my mind.
