What's for Dinner Tonght?

We decided to have an early dinner tonight. Why?
1. With Barry moving through Louisiana, it is bringing rains to southern Mississippi as well. I don't want to lose power and then be forced to eat a sandwich or pop tarts or something else right out of a package.
2. We were all three hungry. Enough said (LOL).
3. Eating early gets the kitchen cleaned up early and hopefully early to bed. I'm tired. I was still awake at 3:30 am this morning waiting for the storm to hit land. So early to bed will be fine with me. I'm sure we will wake up to some thunder and lightning at some point during the night.
So what did we have for dinner? I popped a meatloaf into the oven and fixed some black-eyed peas. I also fixed a tossed green salad with tomatoes and cucumbers from my daughter's father in law's garden. I also tossed in some shredded cheese and croutons.

I have an early dinner everyday. It helps me wind up my kitchen early and be in bed in time. On weekdays my day starts pretty early at 5:30 AM.
I hope the rain and thunderstorm passes quickly with no damage. Stay safe.

I didn't have dinner last night. I had a steak and potato for lunch along with a creamy cucumber salad. It was enough with what I had for breakfast. Surprisingly, I didn't wake up hungry, so it was all good.

A piece of fried egg and a cup of boiled rice. Then a glass of avocado smoothie after dinner.
