We Are Camping!

The site we are in was not designed for a camper like ours. It took me several attempts at backing in to get into the site the way I wanted. I might have managed it sooner, but the missus tried to help by shouting out things like, "a smidgeon more the other way," and, "watch out for that post," a second after I'd bumped into it. Don't worry - no damage done. I move very slowly when backing up our camper. There is a rule written on a t-shirt regarding things spouses say to one another and the rule is that you never hold what someone says while parking the camper against them. I love that rule. We did get set up and are happy with our site, now. I am, anyway. The missus is less enamored with it than she was since the Ranger came by and warned us not to pick up any sticks we see in the road if we happen to be out walking at night because they are probably copperheads or water moccasins enjoying the radiant heat from the pavement. This, my friends, is the reason we have a bathroom in the camper. We are in for the night and will soon be heading to bed. In order to beat the worst of the heat, we plan on an early start and end to our outdoor activities tomorrow. Do you have anything big planned for tomorrow? Or are you just happy tomorrow is Friday Eve?

I'm not much for camping but I've never been in a camper before either so maybe that would be more fun. I hate using bushes as bathrooms and when poisonous snakes are about I really wouldn't want to be out there

I wish I could afford an RV but then I'd have to hire someone to drive the dern thing, I heard they aren't that easy to handle @DWDavis

@rebelann I have friends with 40-foot motor homes and 42-foot fifth wheels trailers and I don't know how they do it. I'll stick to my 32-foot fifth wheel and keep driving very carefully.

We've evolved from tent camping to a popup and then a hybrid and last fall we got this rig.

Glad you got that camper parked. Sounds like having a bathroom in the camper is a necessity. Hope you have a safe trip tomorrow. I am just where I am always at my PC. Rain is due for the rest of this week.

Oh those little wiggly guys are everywhere. Be thankful that the Ranger stopped by and talked to you. Now you will have no surprises.

@Tina30219 The only place to swim there is a muddy little river full of leeches, and old fish hooks.

@LadyDuck So far, we've seen toads, squirrels, ravens, and horseflies - lots of horseflies, but no snakes, thank goodness.

We have improved our communication techniques when parking the caravan. I remember once standing by the driver's door, hands on hips and saying very clearly and distinctly - put the windows down, turn off the radio and LISTEN. We've got on much better since that day.

I do all those things, but she needs to work on her instructions. A little more specific would be nice.

Glad you guys getting out to see the wilderness and yes no rules against cussing each other out while parking. Why I just volunteer ground guide when I know it is going to be a pain. I did that once when helping my friend move but to late he already hit my friends car. Left a good bruise, but did not dent, could have been worse. Do be careful of those snakes. I think Brooklyn found a rattler's nest a while back. That was scary the way she was sticking her nose in there and jumping back while hearing like a swarm of bees but a bit different going off.

I do love camping. I did it only once at the seaside. I hope I can do it next time. Tomorrow, it is still a working day for me.

It seems you are so excited in your camping. That was scary if you pick a stick and turn out to be a snake. I experienced it I saw something curled I thought rubber only to shout hysterically when the head of the snake showed up and looked at me.

I am sad tomorrow is Friday as it is the end of the week with my grandson. Chilly here again. At the end of our rainy week of camping I was directing Hubby to hook up to the trailer, a nearby camper rushed up to take over my task. He said spouses just can't do this together.

My wife and I work well together hooking up the camper. It's backing the camper into a tight spot that the claws come out.

@DWDavis I am no help with either, and Hubby was a trucker so he really doesn't need me. I try to find another errand.

No pans, reina and more rĂan. Laughed out loud at the writing on your shirt about never holding what someone says while parking the camper against them. Good one. Enjoy! And good for the inside bathroom.
