A wasted trip, dang it

Long story short, I went to see a friend today and after my visit I went to renew my drivers license. The visit with my friend was very nice but the trip to get my renewal was a total waste.
Ok, it's probably my own fault, I found my renewal form that was sent to me and when I read I needed a birth certificate I thought they were referring to people who are getting their first drivers license, what a shock to find out I needed to have my birth certificate with me. Ohhh well, I'll just have to reschedule tomorrow. Do you have to have your birth certificate for a drivers license renewal in your state? Of course I mean those of us in the US.

The photo is of the Organ Mountains in Las Cruces NM, dad always called them the Cardboard Mtns. I took those shots way back in the mid to late 1990s with my 35mm Nikon. The lower shot was taken in a canyon area fairly high up. It's now an area for the fairly well to do folks. I want to go back to get new shots but it's a little ritzy up there and maybe they won't want me taking shots of the area.

I do not know what my husband needs to bring with him when he sees the doctor to go through the Driver's License procedure. I know he has to bring a valid ID, so I suppose the birth certificate is not necessary, they ask for it when you renew the ID.

beautiful pics! i'm a tad cranky folks're now livin' there. i wish they'd not 'llow such personally...
oh, the drivers license fiasco! yer lucky that'd be all ya need. here ya got'ta take yer birth certificate, marriage/divorce papers, social security card 'n a bill with the same name 's all the rest 'n current addy. yup, a nightmare, regardless 'f how many years y'ave been gettin' yer license.
my sweet momma found what she'd been usin' 's a birth certificate her 'ntire life, 'twas jest a birth record 'n such'd be diff'rent....luckily she t'was able to remedy such with a trip to muleshoe (75 miles round trip). needless to say, she 'twas not too happy.
i'd warned the hubs ('fter momma's, the aunts 'n the eldest sons troubles...) to get his social security card changed 'n he'd not listened. his momma requested such with his nickname....

I think this is a way to get illegal residents out of our country, I don't have a problem with that.
They always ruin the unique scenic areas by overbuilding which of course ruins the whole thing. I haven't been back there in 8 years.

We are supposed to renew our driving licence every ten years. Once they have your details you do not need to provide any other details apart from change of address or certain health problems but these are supposed to be declared at the time they happen!

They are creating a data base of everyone which will include thumb prints @garymarsh6 so much for criminals getting away with theft these days

Thank you.
It was so surprised when I was told to bring my birth certificate but I guess they're making sure no one is illegally in the US. Can't says I blame em.

No birth certificate required here. Most renewals are done by mail.

That's how I did my last renewal but now they're collecting data on citizens so I had to go into their office.
