Have you ever wondered how the meteorologists come up with the heat index or "feels like" temperature? Some are tired of hearing about the weather I know. And I am tired of feeling the heat. Nothing I can do about it so I thought I would try to learn a few things. Below is a link to a heat index calculator from weather.gov, a reliable website. If you are interested, you can compute your own heat index number. You can enter either Fahrenheit or Celsius temperatures. Right now, our temperature is 97 F, and the humidity is 49%. The "feels like" (or I call the real temperature) is 110 F. That is why I am staying inside.

Heat could become excruciating, especially when the El Nino Phenomenon comes. Yet, I am used to the heat, my country being in the tropics. One way to combat heat is to eat watery fruits like watermelon. Drinking water helps, too.
