It was in my Hair

Last night, I woke up in a panic. Something was in my hair. I felt it carefully. It had four legs and they were large and hard.
I did not know what to do. If I smashed it, it might bite me or bleed all over me. If I tried to brush it off, it could still bite.
I needed sleep so I decided to carefully pick it off. Got some tissue and went for it. I pulled the four hairpins out of my hair. How did they get there? They were on the sides of my head when I went to sleep.
I felt silly, all that fuss about nothing. Did you ever wake up at night and panic about something stupid?

I thought a moment that it was a bat in your hair.
I was lost once in my bed during a warm summer, and could not find the light. It took me some time to realize that I had turned round the bed and the light was at my feet
. I suppose that I had moved a lot because of the heat.

Wow, the confusion was real. I bet you were glad you figured that out. I thought it might be a bat too and wondered for a brief second whether it was or not. I live in Florida and there are some big bugs here. I was scared that it might be a huge spider. Yikes!

my 'pologies, but i'd the need to giggle 'bout this! i can 'magine yer fear, bein''n a groggy stupor no doubt ya were convinced some evil creature 'd come to visit.
e'ery now'n then i'll 've a dream where such 'ccurs. 'r hear a certain bark from mr. red that'll send me out'n a panic. he 'nly barks when somethin' 'tis awry. last time i went out'n my jammies with a shotgun'n flashlight, jest to find someone's sheep'd 'scaped, gone through my fence'n were dinin' out'n my pasture...

@akalinus the red pup'd ne'er seen sheep 'fore, so he didn't answer. most oft i'll holler if'n such's 2 legged 'r 4. he'll respond to such 'n i know if'n somebody'd be snoopin' 'r 'tis critter troubles. so's i'd nary a clue to the troubles.
yes ma'am, 'bout the time i got 'em rounded 'p, i heard a fella holler'n the darkness. he 'pologized fer the disruption 'n they followed him back to his place. 'twas kinda cute :)

@akalinus lo oh deary deary me! That is funny but I am sorry you felt panic. But really glad it ended up being something completely harmless! I have done silly things like this. I cannot count all the times my hair has fallen over my face and me thinking a big bug has crawled over me!

@Shivram59 If you can find a copy, it would be interesting for you to read it. I don't know if it is translated into Hindi or not. George Orwell wrote it.

Good thing it was just hairpin. Sometimes our minds can play tricks on us especially if we're sleeping and suddenly woke. up.

@akalinus When you realized it can be silly. But make sure you will not have pins or anything in your hair when you sleep.

Not that I can remember but I am sure that it must have, we are in that state between waking and sleeping when we wake up like that and we are not fully conscious.

My first thoughts after reading bleed all over me were "ewwwwwww" then I was ok she had tissue.....so you never did actually put those pins on yourself and none was laying close to you? Who was it then?

I am sure I have, cannot tell you what at this time, though. I am sure waking from a deep sleep it is easy to panic.

No, just sometimes a strange dream will wake me up..one night I was dreaming I got attacked by a wild raccoon. It might have been the cat attacking my feet..but he has gotten better about that these days, now that he is past the kitten stage.

@akalinus I think it will be awhile. he never really bites, but he does have sharp little claws. Mommy should cut them.

I woke up in a panic one night because I dreamt that a big giant cockroach came flying in my room and landed on my face! Of course when I woke up with a jolt there was nothing there! But that was it for me....I couldn't go back to sleep for the rest of the night because I kept thinking about roaches!
{I hate roaches}
