A prank on a teacher sent her to the hospital

Knowing that their teacher is allergic to bananas some students decided to pull a prank on her by "smearing banana peels on her door and doorknob." They also threw bananas at her while she sat in the classroom. That caused her to go into anaphylactic shock and she had to be rushed to the hospital. This happened at an Ohio middle school (USA).
I don't know what the students had against the teacher and what possessed them to do this but she could've died. Isn't this so-called prank an attempted murder?

Oh my goodness, I hope they know the kids that did it so they can get reprimanded severely. I don't care how awful a teacher is, even if they are mean they don't deserve something like that.

They were put on probation through juvenile court. Not sure exactly what that means.

The more I see of this sort of thing, the angrier I get; and the angrier I get, the more speechless I become. I just don't know what to say anymore.!!!

Lately, more and more dumb, insane, crazy stuff is happening in this country and probably around the world as well. I wonder if there is a more sane planet I can move to.

They should ALL be brought up on charges, it absolutely is attempted murder.
What SHOULD happen and what will unfortunately aren't always the same.
I am thinking they may get a "slap on the wrist" at best, but surely they knew what they were doing, I just hope the teacher recovers.

I agree with you. She was given two epipens and then rushed to the hospital. Apparently, she recovered. But it could've ended differently.

In no way is it a joke, parents should instill in our children respect for adults, although the teacher has not been allergic, it is an act that should be punished

It pretty much looked like it is. But I know murder is premeditated meaning you really plan on killing the person. But this one seems like they just want to annoy her but it just got out of hand that almost cost her life on it. I think the students should be given disciplinary sanctions for it.

I wonder if they had any idea how dangerous such a prank was? I hope they didn't because, otherwise, their behaviour is inexcusable.

Awful for sure to knowingly do something like this. They certainly knew what they were doing, so they should be punished for it. They can't be let go so easily.
