Scared to Eat

I decided to microwave a potato to go with lunch today. I looked at it and remembered the story about a woman peeing on the potatoes. I scrubbed the heck out of it before cooking. I removed it from the microwave and started wondering if someone could inject something into it. What about the green beans? Do I scrub each one? I did not want to think about the tuna and what might happen to it. We all need to eat every day. I am getting more fearful of the food I buy. I don't know what to fix or how to make sure it is safe. I am really leery of eating out too. Have all the news stories about food tampering scared you? Have you changed the way you prepare meals? Or does it not bother you at all?

There have always been filthy, gross people handling our food, forever and a day! It's only recently, that all of this has been made public. I don't listen to any of it, instead I just pray over our food and serve my family. Dwelling on this is a big waste of mental energy and time!

I have known that for years but all the recent news events make me wonder what's next.

@akalinus The Bible states clearly that these things will continue to wax worse and worse. The Lord will be our keeping power, through every bit of it! As he was with Israel and fought their battles, he's doing the same thing for you and for me:)

Better not to think too much or you eat nothing. If someone injects something in the potatoes it shows, if the inside is not perfect do not eat.

That is sensible. Maybe I overreact because there is a new case of tampering in the news every day.

To deliberately contaminate food to be bought by others is or should be a crime.

I have read such stories and seen a few videos doing the rounds. But if we start thinking of all this there will be nothing left to eat.

It makes me wonder with Salmonella and other poisons, pest killers, weed killers, and people trying to hurt others make it hard to know what to buy.

'tis a shame they can't find these folks 'n make 'em eat these items, eh? one cannot live with paranoia, such's jest not healthy. there'd be so many nut-birds out there who think such's so danged funny... makes ya wish fer the ol' days 'f chain gangs cleanin' the roadways. most all produce bought 's 'lways been soaked'n either vinegar water 'r peroxide.

@akalinus sadly they've no room'n the jails fer such. then their lawyers (which our taxpayer dollars're 'lso payin' fer...) 'd claim a violation 'f their rights 'n get a huge $$ settlement. i'm thinkin' lots 'n lots 'f community service. like cleanin' public restrooms with a toothbrush....

@crazyhorseladycx I guess you are right. They have rights and the consumer does not. Makes me kind of mad, but it is what it is.

@marguicha Well, yes. I was too, but it is more important now. There are more foo scares than ever before and add in people doing gross things to it just makes it worse.

though some people do nasty things to food in production, packaging, etc the chances of it affecting you directly is slim so it is best not to worry about it too much

I will try but seeing that there is a new case every day and you don't know how many things were missed because no one saw or the camera wasn't working.

I'm trying to buy anything that is sealed. But of course with fresh fruits and veggies, who knows? I guess just scrub them and trust God to protect us.

The radiation from the microwave should sterilize any contaminants in and on your food. At least that's what I tell myself! lol

yeah nowadays we must have to aware because lots of vegetable and fruits got injected to grow fast but we don't identify easily it so its better to take from trusted place so it will be more safe. I have seen in video that how they fastly make artificial cabage by one injection that no one can believe so when i see cabage that video comes in my mind.

Yes, I agree with @kobesbuddy but I will say if anyone had peed on those potatoes they would reek of urine scent.

@akalinus Yes,I'm scared of eating papaya and banana which are my favourite fruits because I am told that banana and papaya are ripened artificially by using carbide.A doctor told me that fruits ripened unnaturally by using carbide cause cancer.

@akalinus I don't know how they use carbide and other chemicals to ripen bananas unnaturally, but you can identify unnaturally bananas easily. The stalk of naturally ripened banana is black or brown whereas unnaturally ripened bananas have green stalk. The skin of naturally ripened banana looks deep yellow and has brown and black spots. The skin of artificilly ripened banana is lemon yellow.

You can grow and harvest vegetables in your garden. I this this would be the best remedy.

I live in a trailer park with a small yard. I can't seem to grow things in Florida. They dry up and turn black. When I lived in New York, I gave away tons of vegetables from my garden.
