In the New Place

Hello everyone, I can not tell you all how much I have missed being able to get online. Moving is one of the most stressful things one will ever do in their life. It's not just moving from one place to another. There always seem to be things you did not think about. Or, things that just go wrong. We have not been here long and there is so much that needs to be done to the place. I have been very busy. I am trying not to worry about things too much. I am one of those people who wants to get it all done right away. I have my office and right now that is the best thing that has happened in the move. How have you all been??

Would making a list of things help? Maybe you could make a list of what needs to be done, and then a list of what that entails / requires. I know for some people lists are helpful, and for others it's more of a stressor. Welcome back, it's good to see you here. I've been good, thanks!

I have not even been able to stop to write a list. I am just that way. I have deiced to just do things at a different pace and not get stressed because it has not all been done. I need to take time out to write or for myself and I wasn't doing that at all. Thank-you

@whiteream Yes, I think just taking time out for yourself will do you a world of good. It's funny how we get stressed over things and forget to take time out for ourselves. Sometimes that's all that's needed, a few minutes away and a clearer head.

@whiteream I know that it is hard, because I also tried to get everything done at once when we moved here, but it was not possible.

@LadyDuck have decided that what I can do, I will do. I have made a list of everything that needs to be done and I have been giving myself time to get it done. I need to get back to give myself time to do what I love and write. I have not been giving myself breaks here and there and that isn't good. But, I promise myself that I will start doing that.

I do try not too, but things are getting better. I just have to remember I can't get everything done at once.

I can feel you. We made a move two years ago and it was a struggle. Though we really didn't encounter any problem at all, moving stuff was just exhausting. We were just fortunate it was a smooth move and we were all looking forward to moving to an new place anyway.

It's never easy to move and things did not go bad with the moving part. It was the little details of things once we got here. Like no washer and dryer and having to do thing we just were not used to in our old place.

It looks sideways but good. How do you get those knick knacks to stay in place like that? Glad you are enjoying the new house.

I have finally figured out how you can do so much in one day. I have organized things and got a list of what needs to be done when. It's really just a matter of getting into a route. Don't work tooo hard.

@andriaperry Things still have not slowed down and you would not believe what this place looks like after a closer look at things. But, little by little, things are coming together. Hope to be back to writing soon.

I moved in 2 days and everything was unpacked, pictures hung up, etc. Wasn't that bad except for hauling so many boxes up to the 3rd floor.

@NJChicaa That is my problem, I am trying to do everything by myself. There is a lot that is done, but there is a lot more to do and we ran into something we were not aware of but things are finally slowing down and I feel like we have gotten spome stuff done.

@whiteream I thoroughly decluttered before moving. We still moved A TON. But it was all put in its place by the end of day 2. I enlisted the help of family and friends.

Welcome back! I'm glad you got your office in your new home. Slow and steady does it and eventually you will have everything put away in a spot where you want it. That is one thing I absolutey despise doing is moving I always feel so unorganized but eventually everything falls into place and it will for you as well.

Slow and steady, I really do have to learn not to stress so much about the little things. But, there is so much to do when you move and little things that must be taken care of.
