Shared Kitchen

I am living in a boarding house, where tenants share the kitchen. There are about 10 tenants there, two of whom are women with children, while the rests are individuals. The kitchen is mostly used by tenants with families and a few others. I only used once or twice. I stopped using the kitchen as there was an issue about the use of the gas stove. The gas is provided by the landlord but when the gas runs out, it is the responsibility of the tenants who used the kitchen. If the share of gas cost should be equal among the tenants, that is not fair those who use it are only a few people. What do you think of this issue, if you were one of the tenants?

It is difficult to share that equally and many times the people with children will not want to pay more.

@yanzalong Maybe you could buy a small gas stove to cook one dish at a time.

It is always difficult when you have to share a kitchen. I think that they families with children should be the ones to have the most privileges in the kitchen because they have to feed their children. What do you do for food if you don't use the kitchen?

If you have other choices for preparing meals or eating out, I think I would not use the kitchen. It must also be hard to share the clean up. You should only pay for what you use.

Its like even hot water will cost you a lot. I think they can decide how to use because if they use more then they have.to pay more.

Oh that is not fair for sure I understand. Sorry to hear it. I wish you could also use the kitchen.
You are not using this as much at all.
So you unfairly have to pay for the kitchen gas when others use more.
I wonder if those people would one day pay what they should.
Maybe you could have a small barbeque pit to cook on.

I didn't pay. As soon as I was informed, I stopped it. I used it a couple of time. At the time I thought it was provided by the landlord.

@yanzalong Yes it is good you do not have to pay now but I am sad you have no kitchen.

So only the tenants who use the kitchen must pay for the gas? I think that is fair.
If you are not using the kitchen but are being billed for the gas, then that is unfair.

You are right about it. It is fair if all tenants use it.

@yanzalong I think that it finally less expensive and you do not have to share with the others.

It seems that the kitchen is sort of dominated by the tenants with families.

Oh, it's certainly hard to use one kitchen with a lot of people.
