Endless Shrimp and Pumpkin Spice

I saw the commercial about 400 times last night while watching college football, the one where a popular national seafood restaurant was offering its unlimited shrimp meal for a limited time. So of course when I woke up this morning with my stomach growling, I had one thing on my mind--shrimp.
I texted my daughter and we made plans to have lunch together and run a few errands. Of course, our first stop was lunch, and I had my fill of endless shrimp, trying out each of the flavors they were offering on the menu....honey sriracha shrimp, shrimp linguini alfredo, teriyaki shrimp, garlic shrimp scampi, and breaded shrimp. I left feeling very full and very satisfied.
Our next stop was to the craft store to pick up scrapbooking supplies for our Disney memories project, but of course we checked out a few other stores while we were out. One particular store was offering a buy-1, get-1 free deal on 3-wick candles, and of course I just had to have the pumpkin spice one.
Yes, I said it, I like pumpkin spice! No....it's more like I LOVE pumpkin spice!
Okay, let the teasing begin! And no, no one is gong to pry my man card away from me. Just try it! I'll spray you in the eyes with my pumpkin spice air freshener!
Seriously, though, I had a great afternoon with my daughter and son! Did any of you do anything fun today?
I'm capping off my day with a delicious pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. Yum!

Your shrimp luncheon with your daughter sounds so delicious, I know you had a wonderful time together!
Pumpkin spice is one of the best flavors(or scent)in the entire world! Candles? desserts? latte? muffins? bread? pies? They are all the greatest:)

Yes, I couldn’t have said it better myself! There are so many wonderful pumpkin spice products out there! This is one of the reasons why Fall is my favorite season of the year!

@kobesbuddy I don’t think i’ve ever had pumpkin pie from McDonalds before! I’ve had apple pies, but not the pumpkin pie!

I have seen a commercial for endless shrimp but forget from where.
Starbucks, has the best pumpkin drink, just my opinion.
You sound like you had a good time at the shrimp bar...

@moffittjc interesting I thought ours was in a poor location. It sat on a hill but not near anything. At first it was always crowded then people just stopped going.

We ate lunch at Red Lobster, that was the commercials they kept playing during the football games Saturday night. The food was pretty good, and the price was good too....$15.99 for endless shrimp, which included two side dishes as well. Add in the garlic butter biscuits they bring out for an appetizer, and it ended up being a very good deal.
I agree with your assessment of the pumpkin spice drinks. I haven't found anywhere that does it better than Starbucks.

@CookieMonster46 I remember when Red Lobster used to be popular, and it was always packed. Nowadays, I think they are struggling. I don't know how our local one stays in business. It's never busy. Ever.

I didn't have the pumpkin spice while I was eating the shrimp! I saved the latte for a few hours later after we had finished our shopping. We ate lunch first, then shopped, then had coffee!

I don't think I've tried endless meals before, other than buffets. So do you just get to keep eating until you are full? :) Or how does it work? You do request to the waiter then you get your meal?
I have never really been into pumpkin scents but *some* are okay. Sounds like you had a wonderful day with your daughter! Hehehe.

On your initial order, you get to select two types of shrimp, along with two sides. And then each time your waiter comes by the table, you can place an order for more shrimp. I just told my waitress at the beginning that I wanted to try every flavor of shrimp, so on each re-order to bring me a new flavor of shrimp. She did a great job keeping the shrimp coming!

@moffittjc I know those endless shrimp deals. I saw it a couple of nights ago on the tv and my husband was like I want some. I told him maybe we can for my birthday for dinner. We can’t take the kids with us nothing there they would eat really. Plus the 4 year old is allergic to shellfish.

Well, the Red Lobster was for lunch, and the Starbucks was a few hours later after we had finished all of our shopping!
You're the first person to correctly name Red Lobster as the restaurant. haha

Back in my younger days, you couldn't get me to do anything pumpkin. I loathed it. However, that is not the case today. I love pumpkin spice and a good no-bake pumpkin pie. You still can't get me to eat a baked pumpkin pie though. That will never happen. I also like pumpkin spice tea.

Did you know that the demand for pumpkin exceeds the available supply? Most pumpkin pies are not made with pumpkin at all, but instead are made with sweet potatoes with pumpkin flavoring added in

@moffittjc My mother made it from squash and tried to tell me it was pumpkin. This person can tell the difference. I don't like squash pie any more than I like pumpkin pie. Now the no-bake pumpkin pie is to die for.

As a guy, you gotta have candles to create a romantic mood in the home for your girlfriend/wife! I don't mind admitting that I have candles, I put them to good use!

@JudyEv I always worry about fires as well, so I'm extra cautious whenever I burn candles. I make sure they are located in places where there is nothing around them that could catch fire easily. I don't have any curtains in my house (just blinds), so I don't have to worry about that. And I always blow out all the candles before I leave the house.
My parents house burned down when I was young, and those memories make me very very cautious about anything in my house that could potentially cause a fire.

@moffittjc I'm sure you're very careful but I've read so much about houses being burnt down with candles being too close to curtains or being left burning when people go out. I'm glad yours are put to good use.

I am not sure I can justify pumpkin spice together with shrimp. If you say it was delicious I guess it must be so. I happen to love shrimp in every way, shape and form so I would probably try it but still... It is nice that you got to spend time with your daughter. How did she like the pumpkin spice?

I didn't have the pumpkin spice together with the shrimp. The latte came several hours later, after we had done a bunch of shopping.
She loves pumpkin spice almost as much as I do. But since it was a BOGO deal, I got pumpkin spice and she got spiced apple cinnamon. We agreed that after a week or so we would switch candles so she could enjoy the pumpkin one and I could enjoy the apple cinnamon one.

No problems with your man card here. You like what you like! Glad you had a good meal at Red Lobster. I don't like shrimp. I wait for Lobsterfest or Crabfest. Sounds like a fun time. I cleaned off the desk yesterday (Sunday). That was my excitement for the day! :-D

Sounds like you and your family had a wonderful time! I know what you mean...I've seen Burger King's taco going locally for 1.39, HI is always higher priced even KFC stuff is higher.

It's sounds like my kind of day...Last week sis and I were spraying each other were all sorts of colognes and fragrances at Bath and Bodyworks..and sniffing the pumpkin spice candles. When we came out of there we smelled like we fell in a flower garden..lol

We stopped by Bath and Bodyworks yesterday as well, and it was funny, because as soon as we walked in the door a guy was drenching his girlfriend in fragrances. Like the entire time we were in the store he was spraying her down. It was funny.
I heard somewhere that Bath and Bodyworks is going out of business, which I hope is not true. I love that place! And it's always super busy whenever I go there (at least our local store is).

Out here too, pumpkin season has already started.. in every household start cooking this veg.. at least in a week i guess.. Actually I love when its is curry.. we cook with smoke beef and pumpkin, pumpkin with chicken, or fish or so many ... sometimes just fried... ... never ends..

I love the smell of pumpkin spice. I actually used pumpkin spice in my pumpkin cheesecake fat bombs I made to put in the freezer tonight. The smell was just wonderful. I think it's OK for a man to like fragrances. My son likes so Jasmine plug in that I use and wants to get one.

I have learned early on that women love fragrant smells, and so I could either resist the things my girlfriend likes and fight it, or I could join her in enjoying the smells and tastes she likes and reap the rewards. I chose to reap the rewards. I have not been disappointed yet! haha

I love pumpkin spice too. My mother thinks I'm nuts. I got some pumpkin spice oatmeal and cookies about a week ago from the grocery store. Then I saw a email from Kellogg saying that Rice Krispies treats are in pumpkin pie flavor so I got them last week. Too bad Coke doesn't come pumpkin spice. But they are going to have a cinnamon Coke coming out in a few weeks.

I went to Starbucks this morning to order a pumpkin spice latte, and would you believe they were out of pumpkin spice? The nerve of those people! How dare they not have pumpkin spice when I want pumpkin spice!
