Late Night Snacks

For some reason, I'm getting back in the habit of my late-night snacks. First last night, I was hungry around 10:30 pm. I found about a handful of Fritos and pulled out some French Onion dip. Since it was only a handful of chips, I figured I could eat these in bed while I worked on my laptop without disturbing the snoring man. He had the range yesterday and came home and ate dinner and then crashed. It was in the mid 90's here yesterday so I know he was beat being in the sun all day long. Tonight it hit me again about the same time so I got out the canister of cashews. They are not as noisy as a rattling bag and so far no comments from the peanut gallery. To hear him telling my mother about the chips last night you would have thought that it went on for hours. Men exaggerate way too much sometimes. This was one of those times. Do you have late-night cravings for a snack? What do you eat to satisfy the urge? Photo credit: Pixabay, public domain

For me, I'd start wanting something every night about that time. But yes, men do tend to exaggerate!

I need to perhaps start going to bed earlier, but then again I would be waking up at 1 or 2 am. I guess we better leave well enough alone.

@JudyEv I don't have trouble staying up late and still wake up too early here lately.

I melted a little cheese on a tortilla and now I am finishing some home grown grapes.

That sounds good and it sounds like you also had a late snack attack.

You are right, men tend to exaggerate things. It is a very long time I do not have late night cravings.

Years ago, that was when the chocolate cravings hit me. Thankfully, I don't keep a lot of candy or chocolate in the house.

I usually get hungry early in the evening before bed, so I'll usually snack on something before I go to bed. I can't sleep if I go to bed hungry. You think your husband's snoring is loud, you should try hearing my growling stomach when I go to bed hungry!

Oh my. That sounds scary. My hubby gets up often in the middle of the night and eats a bowl of cereal. Since he has been doing the out of town thing so often lately he is crashed out all night long.

@moffittjc Yes, I hope he gets his retirement papers all in order but I know he still needs to get copies of his birth certificate and social security card. He has been working on getting his time from other state and municipal agencies transferred over. I need to remind him of this or just do it for him.

I don't snack. When I get really, really hungry, I know it's time for a meal.

That is why I went with the handful of cashews last night. More protein.

My hubby is the champion when it comes to snoring. I'll have to put up a post about that. I can assure you, his snoring will never be music to my ears.

I binged on chips over the weekend while working. I don’t normally buy it but I was really craving last week. I had spicy bbq and cheese flavored chips.

I've never tried that combination but maybe that is because I'd be inviting heartburn and acid reflux since I have GERD.

I've had to deal with all the sweets the hubby brought home. At least the donuts are all gone.

Yes, I was tired and really hungry. I didn't care. Last night I just grabbed a handful of the cashews and that did the trick.
