Our writing group meets this afternoon. I haven’t been going lately as we always seem to be away on the days they meet. The homework was for a flash fiction so I thought I’d share my offering with you. It’s 75 words. I’m sure many of our older readers will empathise with this guy.
Photo of a spectactular sunset seen on our travels.
SO NEAR YET SO FAR
Try as he might, Ted could stretch no further. He rested momentarily, waiting for his breathing to steady and the tightness in his chest to ease. Failing wasn’t an option. It was imperative that he manage those last few inches. A few inches. That was all. A few, lousy inches.
He knitted his brows, leaned over and made a last, valiant effort to grab his foot. Success at last. Now to cut those bloody toe-nails!
The End

He he, your story made me laugh.
I think flash fiction is harder to write than the normal short story.

@Loverabbit You must be a bit younger than some myLotters. All the 'old people' got the joke first time.
I hope you have a great day.

I don't whether to laugh or cry. I think I'll laugh.
