Curious us

Hubby said what I was thinking: "I'm bored!" Okay so do what? We went to town and visited Marshall's store. Its not much of a store. I did find a pretty journal for 2020's scribbles and an inexpensive fry pan that might last for a couple of weeks. We went to Burger King for a late lunch cause we were curious about the Impossible Burger- its the vegetarian version of a cow patty. It actually tasted pretty good and had a pretty decent texture. The folks at Burger King put on a bit more mayo and onion then what I like but that is not the Impossible Burger's fault. Both hubby and I agreed that we wouldn't mind eating another one. The calorie count is barely less than the cow flesh version. It made for a pleasant meal out and a mini celebration of hubby's 20 years of being a social worker.

Firstly congratulations to your husband on 20 years of social work. I'm sure it's not an easy job.

@JudyEv social work in my country is hard. It requires a lot of patience dealing with many kinds of people with hard life, not very nice and not educated people.

@stringer321 Exactly. And the social worker can only do what the government says to do. Thanks @JudyEv.

I like Marshalls and T.J. Maxx. I have wanted to try the impossible burger as well but haven't yet. They have a meal deal on the burger king app for $7 where you can have a regular whopper and an impossible burger. My son can eat the meat one and I can eat the veggie one.

@sallypup I asked my son last time but he wanted something else. Do you have the BK app?

What exactly does your husband do at his work. And congratulations, I like vegetarian food. You saves a cow maybe :-)

@stringer321 Good question. My husband fills out tons of forms, using a computer. He follows government guidelines on what he can help the client with and what he can't help them with. He listens to people and sets up mental health appointments and physical appointments. (If the client says they are too disabled to work, they have to be able to prove it and a doctor has to sign the paper agreeing.) He helps lots of pregnant ladies. He also tries to figure ways for clients to get education so that they can maybe get a better job.

Congrats to your hubby, 20 years is awesome. I don't eat at those fastfood places anymore, a woman I worked with thought it was funny when her fry cook teen told her about spitting onto the hamburger patty before he'd fry it, I don't think I'd want to eat that.

@rebelann That's disgusting. We don't eat at such places too often either. This town does not have much entertainment going.

'tis a tough job, he must really love such. they've been workin' to get those veggie burgers'n other products to mimic the 'real' meats fer some time. nice to know they've made such progress that a big chain like burger king 'd put such'n their menu.

@crazyhorseladycx The state makes the social worker's job even harder cause basically the social worker is the messenger for what the state will give and won't give. Plus of course the social worker is an ear for listening to all sorts of troubles.

@sallypup 'tis true, but without the taxpayer funds via the state/federal agencies, social workers 'd jest be listeners.

Congratulations to your husband. I've heard that the Impossible Burger is pretty good; but I'd definitely have it with no onions. I heard that they are expensive?

@LindaOhio Yes the Impossible Burger was a bit spendy. In my area you can get a regular Whopper at 2 for 6 dollars. The Impossible cost about 6 dollars all by itself.
