Funny how when you see someone getting older, you see the choices they make and wonder why did they do that. Or, maybe I should have done this or I should have said that.
I have had a few people in my life I have looked up to over the years.
The choices they make have left an impression on my life. I believe we all deserve the respect of making our own choices. As long as our minds are capable of making these decisions, we should have the right.
Many will give up at the end of their lives. They have nothing left to live for. They have outlived their children. Wives. Husbands. And feel their job is done.
Our job then becomes to let them go peacefully.
After all, when I get to that point in my life, I would hope to have the same respect.
The photo above is my uncle's 90th birthday card I mailed to him in July.

Yes, I think every state should allow euthansia of some kind..We are kind enough to do it with animals, why not with each other?

I know you're sad seeing the changes in your uncle. It's hard to let people go whom we love.

I do believe everyone has a time to go and they will go, but if they still have the life in them, and should not give up then I think they should keep living.. No matter how it may seem there is no hope, there is always a way.
Life is a gift, and we need to make the best of it, no matter how bad it is.

I will say this the nicest way possible because you are a friend.
Put yourself at 90 years old. You have outlived your wives, your children, and now your mind is going. You are at peace in your mind with leaving this life. You feel your job is done. Now, maybe you can see the point I am trying to make. it is our own decision to live or not. And your statement "No matter how it may seem there is no hope, there is always a way", not true. There is not always a way.
And we should never judge others as we are not in their shoes. He has made the very best of 90 years. And has lived a great life.

@CookieMonster46 A debatable comment. But I will leave it alone. Thank you for sharing your opinion.
