I came to know today that sharks have to swim continuously throughout their life in order not to die. I got pretty astonished by this fact. Just imagine that they need to constantly move in order to survive!! But later I found this fact is not entirely correct. According to amnh.org, "Some sharks must swim constantly in order to keep oxygen-rich water flowing over their gills, but others are able to pass water through their respiratory system by a pumping motion of their pharynx. This allows them to rest on the sea floor and still breathe."
Have you come across any trivia recently which you found not fully true?
