I'm focusing on my blessings

Yesterday, my husband tried the generator again and once again, it didn't work. But a friend who's an electrician came over and it was an easy fix this time. So now, hopefully we'll have power in the next hurricane.
I went to the eye doctor this morning because I've been having terrible off and on headaches for over a month. I'm glad I started with him before going to my primary care doctor. Headaches, like backaches are often hard to diagnose.
My eye doc checked me and said I have mild Iritis in both eyes which is most likely causing the headaches and light sensitivity. I've had it a few times before, but never the awful headaches with it. He put me on steroid eye drops for three weeks, so I'm praying that will take care of it.
Our daughter was in the ER last night, no blockages, but still dealing with the pelvic floor issues. Please continue to pray for her.
So, lots of things to petition God's mercy for, but much more to praise Him for. I want to focus on our undeserved blessings and grace and less on life's events.
Meanwhile, I'm cooking some venison steaks with gravy, mashed potatoes, corn bread, and of course sweet tea for lunch today. Hope your day is blessed by our wonderful Creator!

I was going to make a stew, but decided to pound it real thin, simmer it until tender, then I'll flour and fry it with gravy.

The venison steaks with gravy were really good. Our daughter had a good day today, but thank you for continuing to pray for her. How are your daughter and the boys doing? I know it's still hard to believe.

i'm glad ya went to the eye doc, too. yer correct, those 'regular' doc's 're quite oft clueless, run loads 'f unneeded tests'n still dunno what the trouble'd be - delayin' treatment.
'tis great yer friend 'twas able to solve the generator troubles. i'd bake 'xtra cookies fer that fella, lol.
bless her heart! my word if'n she's not'd quite the awful time. keep'er close 't heart, great hopes they'll think outside 'f the box 'n find a fix.
y'all'd that fer dinner? oh my...i would'a ate so much, i'd not been worth a darn 'fter, lol.
yes ma'am, need to focus'n the positive, 'tis most 'lways a better outcome.

@1creekgirl me, too, hon. yepperz, that they'd be, though one'd not think such'd be so diff'cult if'n they took the time to look 't the symptoms presented?
bless her, she's been through so much 'lready'n such a short time. i hope she's remainin' positive. she's a great support system 'n that helps lots.

I'm so thankful the eye doctor knew what the problem was instead of my regular doc doing all kinds of scans. Headaches can be so hard to figure out. My daughter is supposed to get a new kind of surgery, then if that solves one problem, her surgeon plans to do another surgery for the third time.

I'm so thankful I went to the eye doctor first. My primary care doctor may have ordered a lot of unnecessary tests trying to find the problem.

@1creekgirl - I agree! We all need to practice being grateful. We all have so many blessings. Even when there are things going wrong in our lives, there are usually good things happening at the same time, too.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Watching the aftermath the hurricanes on the news is very hard to see. It's good that with your troubles you still try to count your blessings.

@1creekgirl I'm glad that you're ok. Seeing how others are suffering worse elsewhere can make a person feel blessed about their own situation. I'm learning to count to my own blessings more when I get down about my circumstances.
