Lately I have been spending a lot of time on the phone with my cousin. We seem to be the only family members that check on my uncle. We are far away but we can still call him and we call each other.
She is blind and such a special person. She is several years older and we have never been close. Since my Dad's passing and now my uncle's situation, we have become closer.
I got a package in the mail today from her. Of course her daughter helps her order things online. You can see the photo above. These are solar lights for Dustin's garden. Butterflies and flowers.
I am in the process of putting these in a container in Dustin's garden but I will see how they look tonight and I will move them around. I might just add them into the garden flowers. I will post an updated photo when I get them where I want them. This was a quick photo to send to my cousin's daughter to let her know I got them.
I cannot wait for them to be charged and see them tonight hopefully, shining bright in the garden. She told me I was a shining light to others and deserved these colorful lights. How special is that, right!
This goes to show you, no matter what your situation, you can help others. The little things in life are sometimes the big things that makes a difference.

I agree, sometimes a bottle of water is all that is needed. Or a smile.

What a shame, your cousin won't be able to see these beautiful light! I look forward to viewing your photo of Dustin's garden, real soon:) Being blind doesn't take away a person's compassion or loving kindness! Is your uncle her father?

What a thoughtful thing for your cousin to do. Sounds like she does see more than a lot of people with proper eyesight. I'm looking forward to photos in Dustin's garden.
