I thought I did not have ankles for a couple of weeks.

My feet (which were not swollen for some time) turned into elephant´s feet a little after the plane started towards Aruba. I did not buy special socks as Dixie had advised. But she also said that I would find them at the airport and they did not have them there.
Last night it was the worst. Fortunately the attendants at Avianca Airlines were very helpful. At Aruba, one of them changed my seat to the first one in economy class. That is almost as good as being in Business class as seats go.
Then, after the delay at the airport, I went to ask one of the Bogotá girls if they would let me get into the plane before so that I would not have to make the long line. Not only did they do that, but they also called a medical person to ask me if I wanted to be seen by her. I told her not to worry and that I´d be a lot better with 2 days at home.
On landing in Santiago, another sweet person took care of my heavy bags (laptop and booze mostly
) and took me to a cart that took me seated and comfy to the baggage claim part of the building, a 1000 miles away.
Now, after being at home for half a day, I just touched my feet and I think that I have got ankles
. I will not look until later though. I don´t want to be depressed. Enough is to feel the hurt. I don´t want to see the hideous part.
But that is not important. There is a saying in Spanish that goes about this "Nobody will take away from you what you danced and sang"
And I had fun. Thank you, Coral, for your share on that.

@marguicha During winter I never have swollen feet, sometimes it happens during summer.

I know how you feel about the swelling in your feet since I also have the same problem that I treat with a cream that is prescribed by my foot doctor.
It is nice to know that the service of the flight attendants on your trip back from Aruba was the best.

I loved the way the airline treated me. I was not expecting it as I always buy the least expensive tickets.

@Deepizzaguy I have always been treated fine by less expensive South American airlines like Avianca and Copa.

@marguicha I guess the airlines are doing what they can to make the passengers feel welcome after some of the U S Airlines have gotten some negative press for kicking out passengers that do not obey the orders of the flight attendants.

My ankles are almost the normal size now, but they still hurt some.

You must have been in so much pain and so uncomfortable. I hope tomorrow your feet will feel so much better. It is good that they took such good chair of you during your trip.

I was. I still hurt a lot, but not as much. And here I´m not carrying any weight as I did at the airport.

I sure hope your ankles show up soon and your swelling goes down. I am glad you had a great time and you have wonderful memories and that is what will keep you feeling good, What did Luna have to say to you when you got home?

Luna almost smothered me with her love. She jumped all over me and she had forgotten the word SIT in these 2 weeks. She only knew how to
jump and run.
