Late Bloomer

Remember the yellow day lilies that I lucked up on at Lowes and bought for only $1.00?
They are blooming again! I gave some of the lilies to one of my daughters and granddaughter since she loves flowers so much. I ended up with two pots here of the yellow color. They bloomed all summer long. I was really surprised last week to see a bud and then the flower popping out at the end of the week.
Do you have any late bloomers at your house? I'm loving the pop of color right now and thinking that this was a great way to spend a buck. The grass is all dying from the extreme heat so this addition of color is nice.

such a beautiful color! i love gettin' schtuff that lowe's 's nearly killed. most come back quite well. miss the early days 'f 'em bein' here coz they'd sell 'em to me fer a quarter each 'nstead 'f the 1/2 price nonsense they now use. i've some red flowers (no idea's to what they'd be - but're annuals), that reseed quite prolifically. the hummers, bees 'n butterflies love 'em 'n they're still bloomin'. 't least fer now...'xpectin' a hard freeze tonight.

I think our Lowes over buys. They are perfectly fine flowers/plants. In the summer they do have some wilted ones but overall, this is the place to get flowers and plants.
I don't envy your freeze tonight. We are just in the 70's at night and nice with no AC or heat. Perfect!

@kareng the trouble here's they've prone to gettin' plants that're not fer this area - requirin' lots 'f shade 'n water. which they get neither 't the store. they tell me they water twice a day. uhm, twice a day'n a lil 2-5" pot with triple digit temps 'n dryin' winds whilst out'n full sun?? not the sharpest knifes'n the block. glad y'ave better luck there.
ugh, i so aint lookin' ferward to such! i'd love to be'n the 70's. the heater 'tis been runnin' fer days now. makes me most unhappy. the hubs did nothin' yet 'gain to seal this house'p.

Actually that is just part of what was in the pot that I bought. I divided them up so they can reproduce faster. I got about six pots out of the two I bought. Lots of flowers :)
Gardening is my joy right now with constricted time to devote to hobbies.

@DocAndersen LOL. Well I bought two pots of these and they were packed in so divided them up for growth. These lilies are pretty hardy.

How pretty that you have such a pretty flower to surprise you with a bloom. Nothing blooming here as the temperatures have gotten colder now.
