Dude is Still Having Tears Fall

I mentioned a few weeks ago about the Dude sneezing. I thought it was the weather. And maybe it is. But one of his eyes has been running a clear discharge, like tears. Just in one eye. For a few days now.
The sneezing is better, I think yesterday was the last sneeze I noticed. But I have had to (and this is lots of fun) wipe his eye 3-4 times today. I thought he would get over it by now and it was maybe allergies. And since it is clear, I didn't suspect infection.
Now I am reading some websites, written by veterinarians that say even if the eye discharge is clear, your pet should be seen if it is something abnormal for your pet.
Tomorrow morning I will see how he is doing and take him to the vet. Just to make sure he has no infection. Also, he could spread it to Brendel. Opinions anyone?

@CarolDM I’m glad he’s going tomorrow and nothing serious.
Please, you see my posts, too, and respond beautifully. Doodles had a fairly good day. I had to force feed him three of his four morning meds. Not fun. I am going out soon for date night, and will most likely have my husband force feed him his night time meds before we leave.
Good luck with Dude tomorrow.

Sorry, I can not offer any advice but I hope that it ends up being nothing or something very easily treatable.

@CarolDM Probably. You can get him a low dosage of benadryl can't you? I know my friend gives her dog a low dosage of benadryl for a skin allergy he has.

resident cat here'd the same a couple years back. 'tis not fun puttin' that goop'n their eyes! the vet said 'twas some sort'a herpes virus that cats carry, if'n memory serves me correctly. the vet thought she'd gum disease, too. turns out 'twas that virus (antibiotics 'lso not fun with cats) 'n once 'twas cleared, she'd her pearly whites once 'gain.
sure hope mr. dude 'tis 'lright, hon. we do worry 'bout our furbabes.

Our female dog Barbie has the same discharge on both eyes. She's white and the fluid is red that stains her hair. The vet couldn't say what's wrong - 2 vets.

But it seems seasonal only. We still cannot figure it out.

it is always hard when pets aren't feeling well. They can't always tell us what hurts! Take care of the Dude!!!!! He is my favorite cat!

It's better to err on the side of safety. See the vet to be sure.

Not having pets, especially cats I don't really know! But it is always better to be safe and get things checked out!

It's good you're taking him to the vet. It will dispel all fears of allergens and contagions. I hope it's nothing serious.

It is better to take him to the vet; they know if there's something affecting him.
