My Last Weigh-In

I forgot to let you all know about my last weigh in when I went to the doctor last Friday. I had good news when I stepped on the scale. I lost another 3 pounds in the week since my earlier doctor's appointment the prior week. I really didn't think I had lost any weight, so this was a nice surprise. I think I can kick it in gear now and get a bit more serious about losing this weight. I feels much better now and feel like doing more. I was getting into a rut. My new rheumatologist insisted that I get back on my medication for arthritis. She said for the amount of degeneration I have to my bones I need to be taking my medicine every single day. I explained to her that I don't like taking medicine and I try to avoid it unless I am in serious pain. We compromised and I got a low dose pain medication and also a muscle relaxer to take before bed. So far this dosage seems to be working well. I don't wake up hurting as bad as I was and I don't have nagging pain all day long. I am going to continue to eat healthier and try to get more exercise and activities in now that I'm not in pain all the time. Photo: Pixabay, public domain

@kareng I understand you. It is hard to lose weight. Be part of yourself what you have done.

That's wonderful, I hope you'll find a diet that'll help relieve some of that pain, it's what a friend of mine did to help with his rheumatic arthritis.

I may look into that more. I did read a bit about it before, but didn't put into action. Some of it doesn't have any scienfic proof behind it so that is a bit skeptical. I also feel that everyone has different sensitivity levels so that could explain things too. It could help one, but not another.

@rebelann That one has already been enacted. Red meat used to be the main thing cooked. Not anymore. We all love seafood here so not hard to implement.

My friend once told me that the biggest thing he did to help with the pain was not to eat red meat, instead he ate a lot of chicken and said he could have eaten seafood but he didn't like seafood @kareng Maybe that'll help a little.

@Alexandoy What is due to lifestyle? Pain? Rheumatologists?

How wonderful that you lost a few pounds. I can understand how you feel about medication but I am so glad you are getting some relief from the compromise. It is miserable being in pain.

That is awesome that you lost weight! Go you! It is also good to hear that you were able to work something out with your meds so that you can feel less pain and not have to take too much medication.

It has ranged from 1-5 a week. I have the whole month of November off --no scheduled dr. visits and I don't weigh at home so next one will be beginning of December unless I get sick and have to go in.

I've made little changes that have made a big difference. It is not sudden weight loss, but it is weight loss and it is working. It also is not coming back. That is what I want and need.
