Home to a spectacular sunset.

We’ve returned from taking photos at a horse endurance ride at Wandering in Western Australia. We also helped on a checkpoint but I’ll write more about that later.
We came home through Donnybrook at about 6.30pm and were driving towards an impressive red sunset. We pulled off the road so we could take photos of it.
There has been quite a big bushfire not too far away and the sky was covered in smoky clouds. Such conditions often create incredible sunsets. The sun was like a big red ball hanging in the sky.

What an amazing sunset! I often love how negative situations (in this case a bushfire) can create beautiful conditions in the atmosphere!

@JudyEv My eyes turned blood red once from staring at a full solar eclipse, but I just couldn't stop looking at it. Maybe that's why I have so many eye problems these days! lol

@moffittjc Please don't tell me you looked at a eclipse without any protection. Everyone, but EVERYone, knows not to do that.

@DocAndersen When we were travelling home, the smoke looked to be in the direction of our place. We were pleased to find we were wrong.

@JudyEv i presume they've gotten such 'nder control then? here a springtime fire 'tis most detrimental's our winds 're quite oft purty high. if'n one started here o'er the weekend, would'a been quite the feat to e'en try to contain. the winds 'f been constant 25mph, gustin' to 50. today's a tad calmer, constant 'bout 20, with jest gusts to 40.
very dry outdoors, the horses manes/tales 're full 'f static electricity. a bit comical to see, unpleasant though i'm certain.

Thanks. It was blood red a bit before this but there was nowhere to stop safely.

We were desperately trying to find a place to pull over and the sun seemed to be going down so fast. We were lucky even to get the few we did.
