My new culinary delight

One of my favorite recent "new foods" is incredibly easy to create. Put the eggs in the pan so they don't crack. Have enough water in the pan to cover the eggs. Boil the eggs for four or so minutes. Let the eggs cool a bit and then peel them and add salt and pepper. Have something to drink on hand. I love hard boiled eggs! Do you make them?

Yes but not often, I do pickle them every now and then. Deviled or egg salad is better.

I don't eat pickled anything. I tried a pickled egg... or pig's foot...or something...once... I still suffer from PTSD.

@andriaperry It was at a bar in Montana. Bars in Montana make people do bad bad things.

I like the yolks runny. I think poached eggs are my favourite way to have eggs.

@RasmaSandra wow. thanks for the picture. so if you cook 6 eggs at a time, i guess you only eat some then store the rest in the fridge?

@TheHorse the egg cooker does it all you have to add water to a certain line for hard, medium or soft then plug it in and it does the rest something like 5 minutes I suppose and an alarm sounds and perfect hard-boiled eggs it also make omelets and poached but I haven't tried that yet Great kitchen gadget

I think 4 minutes of boiling gives you soft boiled eggs.

@TheHorse oh well, next time use a timer so you can post an accurate data like 4 minutes and 49 seconds, waheehee, joke.

@Alexandoy Heh heh. Intuition is my timer. After I turn off the heat I just let things sit for a bit. So far so good. But 4:49 sound about right.

Maybe I actually give them five minutes. I can't remember. But I've had nothing but successes so far.

Me too. I love to eat hard boiled eggs with my dry salami and cheese...mmm, good. I like to drink it down with my American Ice Sparkling Water flavor of blackberry only .68 on ice.

I make hard boiled eggs all the time and always keep a carton handy. But I cook them much longer. But they are delicious. Great by themselves, great in a salad, and from time to time I like to make a batch of deviled eggs too.

@TheHorse I do not know, that sounds like some left wing hippy crap right there, coming from a left wing hippy. Not really, but closer to that than those other ideologies.

@crossbones27 Do you think we should let them chickens have some fun and then steal their babies? This is getting awfully nuanced. Plus it's making me hungry.

While I am not into eating eggs, this simple recipe is quite wonderful. In fact, many street vendors in many places in India sell something similar to this, and there are a few who make Thousands of Rupees a day(1 USD nearly 70 Indian Rupees)by selling them.

@TheHorse no you can invest millions of dollars and open a restaurant chain selling boiled eggs in a big Indian city. But perhaps you won't like the dust and pollution here. As for heat, you can have a good AC.

@TheHorse Then you can go to a Hill station like Mussourie, Shimla, Nainital etc where it is less hot, but freezingly cold in the winters!
