A quiet birthday for Claudia

Claudia´s birthday is tomorrow. She first wanted to invite us to a soda fountain for pastries, coffee and other things. But it seems that everything is closed now.
Santiago is a ghost town. Public transportation is not running. So the people that work to activate the city are at home, waiting for everything to cool off.
The Supermarkets are closed, the restaurants are closed, there are long lines of cars waiting to load gas and other lines of people at ATM machines waiting to take out money.
Tania will make a cake for Claudia and she will come to pick me up to go to her house. We will have there some cake and a cup of coffee.
I´ll write as soon as I can.

I am socked. But it depends on how long this goes on. Besides, I am very much afraid of an stampede sort of thing in supermarkets. It has happened because some people buy more than what they need.

Claudia´s house is very near my house. But I am worried specially about Claudia as she has to go to work every day down town. She is a judge so she has to go to Court.
