Hi everyone! After a gloomy day with rain yesterday, it is a mild and sunny day today. Loving it!
We spent the entire day in Manhattan yesterday where we attended a baby naming. It was held in the party room in our daughter-in-law’s sister’s building overlooking the Hudson River. The ceremony was officiated by a black, female rabbi, who did a fabulous job!
Of course we spent time enjoying our grandchildren and catching up with family, friends, and shockingly, a couple we met years ago on a vacation in Prague and Budapest! It turns out they live in the same building as our daughter-in-law’s sister. It can only happen to us!
We ended the day back at our son’s beautiful co-op and played with our two grand doggies.

The baby naming must have been a lovely time out. I am sure the view over the Hudson River was charming. It feels like a small world. It is amazing you saw the couple you met in Prague and Budapest. To live in the same building as your daughter- in - law's sister.

@DianneN Oh, you can see New Jersey in on the opposite side. Wow. It is crazy how small our world is. I had a Welsh couple fly on the same plane as me from London to the USA. I saw them in Fiji and then six months later in Australia. We found it so very amusing.

@maximax8 That is amusing and three coincidences!!!
We met people at the airport in Hong Kong who were in line behind us and wound up on our flight. They live one block from us and gave us a ride home from the airport. Our flight was delayed due to a monsoon, and our driver had no idea when to pick us up. On another trip to Beijing and Shanghai, we met friends of our nephew whom he went to school with. In San Diego, we met my superintendent of schools. And on our honeymoon, we saw my college roommate and later on, friends of our friend. Such incredible happenings so far from home.

I always say that we cannot be naughty, no matter where we are. It seems the everywhere there is someone who knows someone who knows someone you know
. Still it is so nice to see again people you once met.

Wow! Go figure. Small world that you met the couple from Prague and Budapest. Lovely photo. Is the baby-naming ceremony something that most Jews hold? I'd never heard of that one.

It’s crazy how we meet people when we travel that we know or who know our family members. Some we remain friends with and see often. This couple is one that joined us for dinner a couple of times.
Yes, we have a baby naming for girls and a bris for boys.

@DianneN Ah! I am familiar with the bris; but I didn't know that they had a baby naming for the girls. Thanks for clarifying that.

It was a wonderful day. My granddaughter is enthralled by her tiny cousin and feeds, bathes, changes, and holds her. She told me she babysat for a little while. I asked her how much she charged, and she told me family doesn’t charge family. How cute!

The grand doggies are my son’s dogs, therefore my granddogs.
