Where would you draw the line?

Earlier today I was reading a news story which claimed that a significant number of students had undertaken sex work to pay their bills. What I found more surprising, though, was what was included in the definition of ‘sex work’ – everything from selling used underwear or taking photos for foot fetish web sites to finding a ‘sugar daddy’ or actually charging strangers for sex. Personally I wouldn’t group those things in the same category at all. The former could even be thought of as just a bit of a laugh while the latter I would never even consider. What about you – would you consider selling a photo of your feet the same as prostitution? All rights reserved. © Text and image copyright Fleur 2019.

I'm sorry students need to degrade themselves to pay bills or even have bills, or are these college students. It's terrible. I wouldn't do any of those things. There must be a more honest way to pay bills.

These are college students. But no they don't need to degrade themselves, there are more honest ways to earn a living in spare time, as students have done for decades or more. I suspect some of them just want money more quicjkly than they would get it working as a delivery driver or in a bar or some such menial job.

@just4him Plenty of people don't want to really work for something these days.

I am very much mind your own business type of person. I do not like others interfering with me. I will not interfere with them. They feel it is ok? Their conscience. Ultimately I am not the one who is paying their bills. I would have rights to say something if I agreed to pay the bills, and they still did it. People do a lot of unacceptable things when their needs are not being met. Our monetary system is obviously not efficient to prevent such things. So who am I to judge. I liked DE's explanation.

I would consider none of those as it is highly dangerous ...so many murderers out there and that is no joke who cannot control their impulses.

Wow, the world is becoming weirder and weirder every day. Or maybe sexually-oriented jobs would be a more appropriate term? I don't know.

Honestly, no it isn't getting any weirder than it ever has been. Consider this... The description (above) was of a written news article. The person who wrote the story couldn't find or think of anything to fill his space in the paper, so he took ordinary and everyday events and sensationalized them. The people who bought/read the article said "Oh my goodness! College students are getting more perverted every year! Why, in MY day things like that couldn't happen!" little knowing that they themselves did the same type of things, just like their parents did and their grandparents, in their day. The article was describing a couple of college students who moved in together. Nothing wrong with that. They saved on rent, utilities, food, etc. The author simply described their relationship in lurid and graphic ways to elicit a response from whoever read the article or heard about it. It sold newspapers and made the author money.

Not at all, selling a photo of my feet could even be funny, as you say, but selling your body is another matter.

I think the first two you mentioned would be extremely distasteful. There really are a lot of sick people out there.
