Impossible Review

Over the years Bisquick has offered various versions of its "impossible pie". They can be anything from savory to sweet.
For our desserts this week I have made "impossible coconut cream pie".
Review: The taste is delicious. It was easy to make. It did not quite turn out as I was led to believe, as there was supposed to be a "crust" layer, a custard layer and coconut on top. The crust layer did not really materialize.
Yes, I would make it again.
I wonder if using an immersion blender to mix it up mixed the baking mix in too thoroughly so that it would not separated out to be a crust.

I love those! I've made a chocolate cobbler that is very sweet and rich.

I'm sorry it didn't turn out quite the way you wanted but I'm glad it was still good. =)

It just did not come out as described. It was still delicious and easy. Hey, Jennifer pray for my work situation. I get victory, and peace, and then something else happens and I get knocked down in my heart and mind again. Thanks.

I have made a couple of those Impossible pies, the chicken pot pie one and the coconut one. They are both good. The coconut was not coconut cream though to the best of my recollection. It was probably a different version.

It is. As I was telling @LadyDuck you can prepare your own homemade "ready mix" as well.

Yes, the company calls it an "impossible" dish. It really is very possible and easy.

@Fleura
I often laugh when I hear someone saying "made from scratch at home", when in reality it is "assembled at home". I have read a few days ago someone who said "I made ravioli", NO she cooked ready made ravioli, I "make" ravioli and it takes a bit more time.

Neither do I.
The most entertaining recipe I have seen came from a church cookbook that an American friend gave me. The recipe was for pineapple cake and the ingredients were
1) a can of pineapple
2) a packet of cake mix
We all laugh about that!

I think pies in some ways are more challenging, but I like them a lot.

This one you mix all together and it separates while cooking. The chicken pot pie will have the filling poured in on bottom and a batter on top. I will make that this weekend. An immersion blender is sometimes called a "stick blender". It is a hand held device that has blender or food processor blades on bottom and an "on-off" button on the handle. Mine has a removable part that you can wash in the dishwasher or sink. It also has a mixer type beater you can trade off. I use mostly the blender blade as it is an easy way to get the lumps out of something.

@GardenGerty Oh yes, I have a 'stick blender' too, it's the only type I've got, I use it a lot for making soups and smoothies.

I agree. I had not done this in years. I will probably mix the batter first then add in the coconut later. It was even better once I chilled it.
