Common Sense

Common sense is a flower that doesn't grow in everyone's garden. This quote brings a smile to my face. I think it's funny but also sad but true. I know and have known several people that have a lot of book smarts but not a lot of common sense. I've also known people with a lot of common sense that don't have the book smarts (which is OK)...and people that don't have either. How about you? Do you know some of these people? I wish I had more of both, but I guess I have just a little more book sense than common sense. I love the quote, though. It's just so tactful, like something we'd say in the south!

I know a LOT of people without common sense. Interestingly enough, many of those I know who lack it have college degrees.

I've always said the more book smarts you have the less common sense you have. I have meet quite a few people that have a couple degrees and spent years of schooling and don't have a bit of common sense and certainly no street smarts at all.
