Brrr, Chilly Day - Winter is Here!

I think winter has now hit the south. Our high yesterday was only 51 degrees. The cold front moved though with a biting wind.
We had a low of 34 last night and I woke up to 35 degrees and a frost on the ground, the first of the season. The temperature has now risen to 47 degrees. The sun is shining and it looks to be a beautiful day outside.
We will be heading to Baton Rouge in a few minutes. My hubby has decided that I need to be at this meeting regarding his retirement. I was hoping to stay indoors. Oh well.
On the bright side, he did stop and get wood pellets on his way home Wednesday so we have heat! Yay!

@FayeHazel We have that coming next week for our high's. Not looking forward to it as it will feel like the 30's.

@kareng Ah, I've seen that called "Real Feel" sometimes when they factor the wind chill and humidity and so on.
42 would feel warm here.... :D It's brrr.

so glad he finally got'cha some, hon. the hubs's most happy he listened to me, though called 't naggin' 't the time. 'tis pitiful that wood pellets 'd be cheaper to heat this place than propane.
's warmed here momentarily 't least. 76 fer the high today, nearly double what such's been. the wind 'twas cold though, felt like 59. will take 't anyhow. got lots done outdoors finally.

I'm glad you had warmer temps today and got a lot done outside. I didn't work long outside. My mom came to sit outside while I was working and then decided to help me. I didn't want her falling in the yard so I just said I'm hot and tired and quitting, which was true but I normally would have kept working. All is good. Rain coming in tonight. Had a light fine mist falling about an hour ago.

@crazyhorseladycx We had a bleak looking day today and the sun did the same thing.
That may have been same blast with the weather.
I'm still trying to clear OLD notifications and have not been putting much up in posting to get through these.

@kareng key word bein' had, lol. went chilly 'gain yesterday 'n the same today 's the sun couldn't break from the clouds. lots 'f moisture'n the air, a heavy fog that ne'er quite lifted.
bless her, 't least she tried, eh? i hear ya'n stoppin' though, 'twas the safest thingy to do. hopefully y'all got to sit out'n 'njoy the purty weather fer a while longer though.
i wonder if'n that aint part 'f what came through here?

@amitkokiladitya Not usually where I live. The southern area I am in just gets snow every few years. Year before last we ended up with 4 snow events. That was a first in my lifetime in one year.

After a miserable storm yesterday, today is pretty nice. November is here and it's easy to see that the colder temperatures are coming.

It was a great day today. No snow, but I can live with that with all we've already received. So far, it's 5.7 inches for October. 
It's now melted, and that's okay too, as there's more in the forecast.
With your cozy 51, I won't tell you it was only 21 wind chill this morning when I went to the pool. I don't remember what the regular temp was. 
I hope all went well in Baton Rouge. I'm glad you have wood pellets for the stove.

We had a wind chill factor yesterday as well. It was a biting cold wind too. Glad I didn't have to be outside long.
The wood pellets are for our heater. That is our main heat source for the winter. So central air or heat in this house. One of my window units went out with the heat strip in it so only window unit with heat is in my bedroom. The heather that burns the wood pellets is all the way in the front of the house and heats that section of the house. It's pretty drafty!
