what do laundry and dishes have in common?

one, you have to wash them when they're dirty.
two, you have to dry them before you can use them.
but how will they dry completely if you put the new batch of wet dishes on top of them? if you hang the wet clothes next to them?
why not remove the almost dry dishes first? why not move the almost dry clothes away from the wet batch?
i mean, it's obvious to me, but there are people you live with who don't.
do other people's way of doing things frustrate you and force you to fix things?

@hereandthere I dry almost everything in the dryer, except dresses and the shirts of my husband that I hang on the line inside the laundry room. I have a compact dish rack where I place the dishes that I am washing. Even when I have guests I always wash manually all the dishes, silverware and glasses.

some things aren't urgent for some people and they don't mind repeating tasks

Yes yes yes! There are times when my well meaning husband and kids put wet dishes on top of the dishes that have already dried . . . that drives me nuts! I don't like using chemical stuff whenever possible, but often my husband is quick to grab the bottles of cleaners (well, it's an easy and fast clean up, but that means airborne chemicals all over the house) - I scream

the dish rack is next to the sink and sometimes the pile has become a mountain already that could collapse.

@hereandthere It is that way here too. But we have an upper cabinet above so the mountain can only get so high. Still, the others push to cram in they can

we handwash here (i don't know anyone who has a dishwasher) and let them drip-dry before putting them away.
i get annoyed when people break or spill something but don't tell you so you get a nasty surprise.

@hereandthere i've a dishwasher, which 'twas handy when 9 folks lived here. now, 'tis storage fer large dinner plates 'n rarely used cookin' pots. if'n i'm'n a hurry, i'll let 'em dry'n their own. particularly'n the morn when i've lots 'f other schtuff to tend.
that'd be the hubs! that'n leavin' empty milk jugs'n the counter with the lid'n durin' the night. incapable 'f rinsin' such out. putrid smell!

Yes its frustrating but others way of doing may not be our way even if its the most obvious so.... most of the time I'd rather do my own thing and do it my way. But if you are living with that person under one roof it could be quite difficult and may sometimes be a source of conflict; like having to correct or tell the person, or keep silent and just fix it yourself

@hereandthere We have a dish washer. I mostly wash by hand if we just have a few dishes.

Yes I get very frustrated when certain things get done wrong (well wrong according to the way I do them).

i mean it's logical, isn't it? otherwise we'll run out of things to use and space for it

No two people are alike which makes life interesting and frustrating at the same time. It seems someone needs common sense.
