I am enjoying a day off

I heard the wind change at about three this morning. The vent pipes began to whistle. I thought very little about it.
My friend and I were going to meet for coffee in Hillsboro. I thought nothing about that, until I went to get into the car. My car was facing north.
The entire windshield was covered with freezing rain. About an eighth of an inch thick. I ran late.
We had a really nice visit. And we each went to the thrift shop as well. I got new clothes, and other things. Love thrift shopping.
It is supposed to be even colder tomorrow. I am cooking a pot of split pea soup. I used turkey broth from our last turkey for the liquid, along with some water. I will chop some ham into it as well.
We shopped so much all weekend, I could use another day to get caught up.
I have not been here today since I have been out and about again.
I have a space heater cozy by my desk for extra warmth. I will likely go take a hot shower early so that I am completely dry and warm by bed time.
Bob will go bowling. I hopefully will go sleep.

@CarolDM Brrrrr. Today, Wednesday, we are almost twenty degrees warmer than at this time yesterday, but it is still not warm.

When the wind gets bad here, it rattles the vinyl siding. Sounds terrible.

@GardenGerty I picked up two nice blouses. They're actually new stock. It's a Red Cross shop and from time to time they have new, as in unworn, garments.

@Nevena83 Don/t get blown away. On windy days here we often tell each other to put "rocks in your pocket", meaning they need some weight so they do not blow away.

I hope you do get a good night's sleep.
We are expecting some wintry mix, maybe an inch and a half of snow. I haven't seen the latest forecast, but I think it's supposed to come Tuesday. I went to the store today to buy some things just in case.
I love going to the thrift store, even if I do not end up getting anything.
