I promised to give a review of my new air fryer as soon as I used it several times. I have cooked several different things in it now and I must say that I do LOVE it!
The Gotham Steel brand was chosen because:
1) It had good reviews.
2) I have another Gotham Steel product and it is my favorite piece of cookware to cook in.
3) Price was right
4) Free Shipping
5) Got some money back with thrifty shopping plus it was on sale
I was excited to use the Gotham Steel Air Fryer. I had heard many good things about them from friends. It is a healthier way to eat because you are cooking with less oil, less grease, less cholesterol and less calories!
The Gotham Steel Air Fryer has triple the cooking power. It uses halogen technology to heat the surface, convection to circulate air and speed up cooking time and infrared heat to cook food from the inside out.
You first need to unpack the unit and wash the fryer tray and the basket that sits inside it. Next you should read the instruction booklet. The instruction booklet also contains a chart with recommended cooking time for chicken, pork, seafood and beef, as well as other commonly cooked items like French fries and chicken nuggets.
It is recommended that you spritz food and the bottom of the fryer with olive oil. This will prolong the life of the coating on your basket, prevent sticking and make your food taste better and not dry out. If you do not have a spritzer bottle, use a pastry brush to apply the olive oil to both sides of food and the bottom of the basket.
The unit has a temperature control switch on the top of the unit that goes from 175 degrees to 400 degrees. There is a timer on the front of the machine.
The mesh basket sit inside the basket and locks into place with a button on top of the handle that you would use to pull it out of the unit. to disconnect the basket you would press the button.
So far I have cooked a few things in the air fryer. Chicken nuggets came out great. They were moist, didn't take very long to cook (less time than oven) and tasted great.
We have also used it for a frozen steak patty that we make a sandwich with. This also came out moist, tender and tasty.
I tried sweet potato fries in it and so far this is one of the disappointments. I made two batches to get the timing right. I could not go by the time for regular French fries because a sweet potato is much denser. The second batch I cooked was much better. I cooked them for about two minutes longer.
I also fixed backed potatoes. While they were very tasty, it took longer to cook them in the air fryer than putting them in the microwave.
For the most part, this new appliance will be used a good bit in my household. That was one of the factors in purchasing it. Since I am caring for my mom, I need quick and convenient meals sometimes. This new appliance will help out in that area.
I also love the fact that our food is cooked in a healthier manner. Things I used to bake in the oven where it laid in its on grease is now not in any grease. The fryer basket allows drippings to go directly into the fryer tray.
I give the Gotham Steel Air Fryer a 4.5 out of 5 star rating.

I think I will go raw and vegan. No cooking needed so I save money.

@wolfgirl569 I told him he can't use it if he is not going to clean it after using it. He was also supposed to gather eggs while I ran errands and did grocery shopping. Can't complain too much; he kept mom company and fixed her something to eat.

Sounds good to me but I have never had an air fryer. I can't afford to get one now but I will think about it.
