Have I Mentioned That I Do Not Like Cold Weather?

Woke up this morning to 34 degrees with wind chill at 26 degrees. And it didn't even freeze last night! We also had a mixture of rain/sleet/snow at daybreak which is supposed to continue through the morning.
At least I don't have to go anywhere. Hubby had to go out of town to teach a training at the range. It's about 250 miles of driving for him. There are always lots of accidents when bad weather and I assume that will be the case this morning also.
Tonight our temperatures will dip into the low 20's with a hard freeze. I"m expecting a wind chill of around 10 to 12 degrees tomorrow morning.
I'll be staying indoors except for feeding and watering the chickens and walking the dog to go potty.
Stay warm everyone. I'm heading to the kitchen to brew more coffee!!

@Nakitakona It is hard to stay warm when the temperature is 14 degrees outside. The heat can't keep up with those kind of temps. My house is cold to begin with. Built in 1860 and no insulation.

If I had a nickel for every time I said that I hated winter, I would be rich. Winter is not my favorite season.
The only thing I can say now is that I can enjoy watching the snow as it falls gently to the ground in my lazy chair. Retirement has its benefits. I hated having to drive in snow when the roads got bad.

@kareng it was "1" degree today. Supposed to get to 34. Not happy with it still. Monday and Tuesday it should get into the 40's, but there will be rain. Then of course the snow will melt and we will be left with ice. UGH

@kareng I think we have some glimmer of hope in the fact that it will eventually warm up here in the south after a few days. Our friends up north have this cold weather to look forward to for the next couple of months.

@moffittjc Yes, very true. We have a high of 62 on Saturday and 69 and mighty fine on Tuesday and Wednesday. That is followed up by 71 on Thursday! Next week will be very nice!

@kareng My son and I are going camping next weekend, and it’s looking like the weather is shaping up to be amazing....highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 50s. Great weather for camping!

@just4him You bet. And those temperatures never hit us until Jan. and Feb. Not the way to welcome winter. I hope that was the brunt of it and it leaves sooner than normal. Now that would be a nice dream come true. I know...I'm just dreaming!!

We are in a true cold snap here in Georgia. It is frigid, will be in the 20s as lows for some days ahead.

I believe you have mentioned it. I on the other hand love the cold. I am sitting here sweating and contemplating moving inside. Bundle up and keep warm. Have that nice hot cup of coffee. Glad you have decided to stay in out of the cold.
