What's your favorite winter seasonal food?

This can be a vegetable (Squash, for example), or a sweet treat. It can be from your country or from another. What is a food item that is only available this time of year that you look forward to? I am sure you are expecting me to say pumpkin spice. Yes, while that may be true, I do like more than just pumpkin spice. Apple Cider is a good example. Candy Canes is another. However, and while I can get this in bar form throughout the year (via online), I can only get this in local stores during this time of year.... Terry's Chocolate Orange. Yes, we have orange chocolate throughout the year but not this brand. You may be able to buy this brand at specialty candy stores but it's expensive. I LOVE the chocolate orange. Another? Malteasers. yes, we have whoppers over here which are comparable, but I like malteasers. So, what is a food you love that you can only get this time of year?

I think, in different countries, we have different cuisines and some names of dishes can be not familiar to others.

Yes, I agree. That shouldn't stop anyone from discussing them, though.

Good question. I would say pumpkin pie. I love cold pumpkin pie in the morning for breakfast.

I love pumpkin pie too. Already had a low sugar pumpkin pie that was delicious. Have thought about making one but I want to try to make a pumpkin bread instead.

Probably apple cider. I love it hot with honey and cinnamon. But that's not a food. Gotta think on that one. Not a big pumpkin pie person. But I love sweet potatoes.

Well, I used apple cider as an example so I'd say it counts as a food. I bought some apple cider a few days ago. Sweet Potatoes are so yummy, and I love making yams.

@CarolDM Yes, yum. One year I even added pineapple in with my yams and they came out delicious.

Turnips....we seem to only have them at Thanksgiving but I'm sure they're available year round.

The only part of the turnip I eat is the turnip greens. It seems like I only eat turnip and mustard greens this time of year.
