I worked 8 1/2 hours at my friends's preschool today and have to do a 9 PM to 1 AM rock 'n roll gig tonight at the Clayton Club, a "Cowboy Bar" in Clayton CA. I'll mostly be on bass and harmony vocals tonight, though I may get to sing lead on "Hey Joe," " Crossroads," "Franklins's Tower," and a couple of other songs. I just go with the flow.
I think I will sleep well tonight. It's 5:30 PM, and I don't feel particularly tired, so I think I'll enjoy the evening. I will have a final shot of Tequila here waiting for me at home before I go to bed.
How has your Friday been? I am cooking up some leftover Thai curry to get me through the rest of the night.

Hey, you're working like a dog huh. But I guess you are used to staying up late nights.

@TheHorse ignore the part that says you are too old for that.

@Alexandoy Oh, I do. You know, I've become friendlier in my "old age," even as I appreciate my "alone time" more as well. Last night, during a break, I chatted with a lovely young couple, and we even traded contact information. They wound up dancing during the last set.

Friday I went out and got my hair cut; and then we went out to a 50s diner and had dinner.

@TheHorse Definitely meatloaf. I had creamed chicken over biscuits, mashed potatoes and a salad. My husband had a mushroom Swiss burger, fries and a salad.

If you're at a cowboy bar, I hope that "Hey Joe" is the Carl Smith song, not the one popularized by Jimi Hendrix.....

I do it more like Hendrix. The funny thing about this "cowboy bar" is that it's in suburban California and is kind of "Cowboy Bar Lite." once in awhile a couple of drunk guys get into a fight, but it's rare. Most of the people I talk to there during breaks are really nice (and not necessarily "cowboys").

@TheHorse — this is the difference between a country geek and a rocker. You say “Hey Joe” and everyone thinks Hendrix.....except me.

You must have a stomach of iron. We're getting lots of rain for the next few days (sure hope it doesn't turn into 40 days and 40 nights). Planning to fry some shrimp tomorrow night and ask our neighbor to join us.

Sounds like a fun gig. For some reason I always imaging myself in a band singing my heart out on a stage somewhere, Strange because the only singing I have done in public is in the church duet and solo when I was a teenager.
