DIY Feeder in Dustin's Garden

Finally got out in the garden and snapped a photo of my homemade seed feeder. It was really easy peasy to make. After finding one for $30. and passing on it, I am now glad I did. I can easily replace this pan in the kitchen. I have not seen cardinals yet, but something has been eating the seeds. I found empty seeds on the ground. I hope to see birds eventually to photograph at this feeder. After drilling a few holes in the bottom for draining and to hang the feeder, I placed it on the bird pole I usually hang the hummingbird feeder on in the spring and summer. The feeder seems to do fine so far. I believe it is a nice addition to Dustin's winter garden. I also need to paint the garden bench soon as well. Such a beautiful day here today. Hope you are all enjoying your day.

I assumed the pan was going to be thrown out is why you used it. Much larger then I expected! This will keep lots of birds fed

@CarolDM yeah that’s about the size I was figuring it was in the photo. Before seeing the photo I was picturing like a small round cake pan or something like that.

No but I have had it for awhile. It is actually only about 12x8 or so.

@caroldm Inventive. A feeder made out of whatever is to preferred over a fancy expensive one any day. Hope it gets well used.

I have bought the fancy in the past and realized the birds don’t care.

@xFiacre They would go hungry as the other birds would eat.

Hopefully it will be a good perch for photogenic birds.

I have to take most of the photos from inside unless I sit out for awhile real still.

Great idea with the use of the pan! I can't put feeders out just yet. The bears will come out and devour the seed.

The feeder is definitely a great addition to Dustin's garden. You will catch the culprits eating the seed soon, I'm sure!
