The photo has nothing to do with the discussion but is another composite photo of those appearing on a calendar which I’ve written about ad nauseum.
I thought I should explain more about the Working With Children (WWC) card that I received recently. I thought myLotters would be familiar with it but it seems that is not the case.
The WWC Check is a compulsory screening in Western Australia, and the Christmas and Cocos Islands. The aim is to protect children by deterring people from applying to work with children where they have a criminal record that indicates they may harm a child. Anyone who wants to work with children, either in paid or voluntary positions, must have one of these cards. t is virtually a police clearance. While it can’t stop all abuse, it must surely help.
Those who work with children in schools, clubs, and/or organisations are required to have one of these cards. Because we wanted to take photos at a horse event which involved child riders, we were required to have WWC cards. Vince’s is still current from when he worked at a school but I also needed one. Do you have something similar in your country?

@DocAndersen Do you mean you were abused? So many people now feel it is okay to admit to being abused when they were younger.

@JudyEv it should truly scare you that I had that once in the US.

That's a good thing. We don't have it here. But our schools are supposed to do a thorough verification before employing a teacher or staff. Though it is stated in rules many schools unfortunately don't follow it.

@arunima25 I think in Australia, there is now much more awareness of untoward behaviour.

To be honest, we don’t even know that. All I know is that there should be a working permit from the government allowing children to work. This is specifically true in the show business.

@JudyEv that’s great. It’s a way to track them down.

As long as there is some sort of system in place, then that is good.

I think it's a good preventive screen that would lessen the risk on children

I think that I like the 4th one in the series... just something about the misty light!

That was probably early morning. It looks like it was pretty cold too.

Lovely photo, the one with the rainbow, wow!
Oh yes, we have something similar here. Background check they call it. You need it if you get paid or volunteer with - children, vulnerable adults, or elderly
