The RDU airport Blues

My husband and I left home this morning around 8:30 to drive to the airport near Raleigh, NC to pick up his niece from Arkansas. Of course we got a ham biscuit at Bo Jangles on the way. No one is allowed to park in front of the airport, so we had to circle around several times until she came out. The drivers are crazy there! Flying in and out of lanes! If they were about to miss their flight, they should have left home sooner. But we picked her up and stopped at our favorite rib place, Shanes, I had potato salad and baked beans with my ribs. Yummy as usual. On our way home now. It's going to be fun this week...she's one of my favorite people. We hope to take her to Nags Head on the coast tomorrow for some sight seeing. Talk to y'all soon!

I am surprised they don't have a cellphone lot, this is one where you wait and they let you know when they walk out, with their cellphone and you come and pick them up. Oh, they do have one, I looked it up

@1creekgirl Yes it is a wonderful new invention that makes pickup so much easier.

It is really annoying not to be able to stop in front of the airport, it is the same everywhere now. Enjoy your company.

@1creekgirl People do not pretend to stay there for hours, but at least enough to wait for those we are waiting.

Airports are especially nuts this time of year but at least your niece arrived safe and sound. I'm sure she'll be happy to go sight seeing tomorrow.

We had a great day. The weather is beautiful and we visited the Lost Colony, the Bodi Lighthouse, the Wright Brothers Memorial, then had a yummy seafood lunch.
