Pain in the posterior

Well, today's title was gained from Judy's comment on Fiacre's post regarding his nightmare in Mozambique.
It brought to mind a REAL pain I endured three weeks ago when taking a little stumble and fall.
I was playing a bowls pairs championship and before starting the third game for the day, placed my bowls case on the green's edge (called a bank - like in river bank) and then proceeded to step off the bank backwards.
The bank of the green was a little overgrown with thick grass but had no soil beneath it to hold my weight . . . . no laughing, please!
My left foot caved under the soft embankment and my right foot was caught in the ditch (the moat around the green that holds sand - like a castle moat).
This happened very fast, sliding, catching and falling to the ground backwards only to feel EIGHT solid hard bowls underneath my posterior and back. OUCH! yes you can say it

As fast as I landed, is a fast as I bounced up - my partner was still trying to fathom out what I was doing, and I was up again.
The umpire was watching and came to my rescue - which I didn't need as I was up again. The whole club full of people and green were concerned, but I really felt that I had managed to avoid and injury . . . . . so I thought!
The next day I had WHIPLASH and felt a huge LUMP on my thigh but no marks yet - the following day the blue marks started appearing . . . . on the posterior, on the back and on my thigh where the lump was now as big as my hand.
I decided to take a quick visit to the chemist to ask for some advice, to which he gave me some meds to help with the bruising to prevent clotting.
Walking was hindered for a while, but the day of my party I was able to move about with a little more ease.
What I thought was a stumble and tumble was no laughing matter at all.
I have included a photo - take note this is not for sensitive viewers - the leg belongs to a sixty-year-old gal!

Yikes that was quite a tumble and that looks like a very nasty bruise. You are so lucky you didn't break something

I think there was a similar bruise my grandma has when she fell two nights ago.
