School Shooting in Waukesha, Wisconsin

It can happen here too. Waukesha is a suburb of Milwaukee about two hours south of Green Bay. In the report I read, the only person shot was the student with the gun in an exchange of gunfire with the student resource officer at the high school. No one else was hurt and the 17-year-old student who had the gun is in stable condition. It was not a shoot to kill, which was good as the student aimed his handgun at the officer inside the classroom. The school went on lockdown shortly after ten this morning and lifted twenty minutes later. School and all activities are canceled until tomorrow.
I'm glad no one was killed in the incident. It was over in twenty minutes and the students were sent home. The elementary school close to the high school also went on lockdown with classes canceled until tomorrow.
The article said the police have the situation under investigation and the person with the gun acted alone.
I don't often report the news. This came across my feed on the computer and looked at it since it was close to home, at least two hours from here.
How are things in your neck of the woods? I hope nothing serious. Thanks for reading.

I'm glad nobody was killed in this incident, but I can't imagine how scary it was for students, staff and parents who knew of it. I wish it would stop.
Things have been okay in my neck of the woods. I haven't been sleeping well, so I'm stopping by a few friends' posts before hitting the hay.

i'm glad there 'twas no casualties/fatalities, hon. last young'un who went off here knew better'n to go to the school (they've armed officers). 'nstead, he chose the library. where he killed 2 lovely women, injured 6 others. he's now a life'n prison sentence...

Violent incidents in school makes me sad because all I remember about schools is the learning and the camaraderie of students.

@just4him just for mischief, maybe to brag to his classmates. He was in 2nd year and around 14 or 15 at that time.

Sorry to hear that, things like that are so scary! Glad nobody was killed, and nobody else was hurt. Nothing serious going on here....earlier in the school year there was a threat and school was canceled for a day.

That is truly a blessing no one was killed. These things are so horrible to hear about. In Minneapolis, just yesterday we had a man shoot and kill his two juvenile sons and his wife, and then himself just a couple miles from where I live. When will the insanity end?
