Kmart had nothing

I know that the majority of Kmarts in North America are closed down. However, we still had one in our area that was open. They announced sometime in October that they would be closing by December 10.
I decided to go today to see if there was anything I could get as a gift for someone. Well, there really wasn't anything. Surprisingly, they still had some jewelry. They had a dutch oven that was about $30. I would have considered that, but I don't think my friend needs one. They had some clothes, some Christmas decor, a few toys and some shoes. They had fleece blankets for $5.00. I felt like walmart probably had some on special for cheaper, so I didn't buy any.
Oh well, I may have left it too long, but I didn't want to have to deal with a crowd of people.
Do you go to businesses close out sales?
Do you still have a Kmart near you?
Have you even heard of Kmart before now?

I think they are only in North America, maybe not in Mexico, but I think there may have been some in Canada. They were an okay store, but I feel as if some of there stuff was pricey. They are affiliated with Sears.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I have surely seen the stores from the outside, but for some reason I never had the need to go inside.

We shopped there more often in the 90's, but not so much in the '00's and beyond. Walmart was more convenient for us starting in the early 00's.
I guess we can still shop online with Kmart, but I wonder for how much longer? I feel as if they have gone bankrupt and that is why they are closing all the stores.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Not sure but Sears is also owned by Kmart and is closing most of their stores as well.

No KMart near us now and for the last few years they were still there, they basically had nothing we wanted. Now we have been told a grocery store has purchased the empty store. At least we'll have that.

If I had bought something, I was going to ask the cashier if they knew what it might be turned into. I figured they wouldn't know, but I was going to ask.
I feel like the one in the Triad (the one in Clemmons) was the last in the State. I could be wrong.

ours is still open, though we've hardly gone to it all year. mostly because we've been going to Walmart or not needing anything they had. we check out some close out sales, like when our Bennys closed, we got a lot for cheap. Same with our sears.

Our sears closed earlier this year or late last year. I think most of us around here thought that the kmart would stay as it's situated at the the end of one county and the beginning of another. That's probably what kept it going for so long, all those coming from out of County.
I've never heard of Benny's, is it a store similar to kmart?

They went bankrupt, I believe. Sears (their sister company) went Bankrupt and now they are. A lot of them across America have already closed.

I can't be sure, but I think there were Kmart's before there were Walmart's. Two different companies. Kmart and Sears are sister companies, owned by the same people. They have both gone bankrupt / out of business.
Is Flipkart like Ebay?

@Sojourn Oh I see. Ebay doesn't just sell second hand items. They also sell new items, though that wasn't the way it always was.

@ScribbledAdNauseum No, flipkart does not sell second hand products like ebay and doesn't ship internationally also.

Our Kmart here is more like a Dollar Store now. The last few times I've gone there they didn't have much. I'm surprised they haven't closed down.

We had two here, one closed a few years ago. This one is the last in the state I believe.

It was / is a department store. Similar to Walmart, but less focus on grocery.
